67 Feb 23 Comment Thank you, Cindy and Michael, for your comments. My acknowledgement was delayed because I couldn't get into the PSA site, so thanks are due to the several members (including the webmaster), who helped me out.

I will take your suggestions to heart and apply them to future photos. I thik I had the blinkies turned off, but now they are set for both cameras. Will also play with exposure compensation. . . probably practicing on the gulls, which are everywhere up here near Lake Ontario!

Thanks again -- I really appreciate everyone's comments and support. :-)

67 Feb 23 Comment Wow, thank you David! I am very new at this and certainly appreciate your comments. Thanks again. Susan

PS It was absolutely freeeezing out there, but it was really the only good light day we had so we made the best of it. So happy that the eagles did, too!

67 Feb 23 Comment Thank you, Larry! I appreciate your suggestions and especially the information about the color blue. I had no idea -- but now I know to pay attention to it.

Now I understand about the fish -- it gives more drama to the image and makes it more than "just" an action shot. I have others, which I will re-study to see if they are suitable for posting next month.

I'm thinking Andy has some plans for central Florida around the end of March -- last time I was there we drove over to the shore and caught some reddish egrets putting on quite a show. Hoping to see and appreciate all the wonderful wildlife Florida has to offer then (there's also an air show that I am hoping to attend as well). And, right now it is snowing, so I do wish I could just hop a flight!

Thanks again. Susan

67 Feb 23 Comment Thank you, Bud! I appreciate your suggestions for improvement (grain is the bane of my existance. . .) I do have one of an eagle (probably not this one) who is eating "on the fly," so to speak -- gives a new meaning to "fast food." ;-) Maybe I'll post it next month.

Thanks again. Susan

67 Feb 23 Comment This comment comes from a relative newbie to the art (and practice) of photography, so. . .for what it's worth, I like this image! Yes, my eye was drawn first to the mother, but it traveled quickly to encompass the children, who obviously feel loved and secure in their her presence. The happy look on the younger sibling and the older one turning toward mom -- maybe to get her attention? -- demonstrate their pleasure in being within her presence. Despite the charm of these babies, what overwhelms me is how mom is the center of their attention (and ours). I like that she is central in the photo, the rule of thirds notwithstanding. Whether the background should be light or dark, I don't know; but I think I would choose whatever (reasonable) editing tweaks are available that would allow mom and the children to stand out, kinda separate from the background (if that is possible). Thank you. Feb 9th
