Larry, Thanks - Its worth trying but the crop was set up so that the trail on the right came out of the corner and removing the mts also removes the cloud cover which I thought added emotion to the image. Ray |

Gary - a nicely framed B&W image with lots of shapes and textures. The exposure was long enough to get some silkiness but without a major loss in textures in the water. Would look great as a print on metal. My only suggestion is to crop off the top enough to eliminate the edge of the wall, so the viewer has to imagine where it might have ended. Ray |

Ian - thanks for the IR photo as its an area of photography I have been learning to do. I agree with some of what Butch provided so I tried a different crop taking out some of the top and bottom to make the trees larger but still ended up with that really black shadow that points to the left so I ran the photo through Photoshop to remove it - this is what I ended up with - not better but different. I guess my question is - is the long pointed shadow important to the image? Ray |

Dave, I like the photo and having been in that location, appreciate your constraints. maybe more sky and less foreground would have addressed the concerns raised by Butch and Gary - you might try adding to the sky on Photoshop and cropping off a third of the foreground - still, an enjoyable photo. Butch - a great image and especially since you leave it to the observer to imagine what the scene to the left looks like. Congratulations, you made this iconic vista your own! Definitely, something for me to remember if I manage to visit that area. Ray

Thanks Sherry - and yes, you need to focus on what's happening and I would dearly love to have that opportunity to be there for nesting season - maybe someday. Ray |
