Gary, you did great as the water shows character and the colors are perfect. I just wished that you had opened your lens just a little more so that the right side of the middle falls was completely in the frame. Still, a wonderful image. Ray |

Larry, you have my welcome to the group as well and yes. you can expect interesting and hopefully worthwhile comments. I agree with Butch on most counts and especially that in this case, I like the color version (with less sky) a lot more than the B&W. Have you tried running the color image through Nik Silver Efex (a great program and possible on sale over the holidays) as that program offers many different ways to process into a B&W and is a go to program for many of the photographers I know? Butch, I am trying to determine how you manage to photo so many rainbows in interesting compositions. This one is especially interesting since it appears between the two mts. Everything is sharp, colors are good except for the area in the sky above the rainbow on the left - the blue looks a little pushed but then that might have been the color it was. There is a dark spot near the waters edge on the left, near where a trail? comes to the lake - it looks like someones backpack with a tripod standing next to it - or its my overactive imagination (i would just clone that out). Sherry, I agree that this is a pleasant, memory image. I also thought that eliminating some of the sky to just above the clouds would make the lighthouse more prominant. I find that the way the clouds seem to surround the lighthouse on the right side to have added impact to the image so making them stand out more might also be useful to consider. Ray |

definitely no offense taken as whether to leave or not has been a major discussion among my local photo colleagues so have decided to have it both ways. Thanks. Ray |
