Gary - great image, everything is balanced and you selected a wonderful location for taking the photo. Maybe this is the start of a coffee table book of places you have been. Keep taking those wider images. Ray |

Ian - Good image. I agree with Butch about the partial building on the left but am not sure about the crop on the right as to me it makes the lower right corner a tad crowded. Given this is a project, is replacing part of the image allowed - like getting rid of partial umbrella/table in the lower right since they are temporary and might not be there all of the time. The cars don't bother me as a street with no cars might look strange. I look forward to seeing more of the images planned for your coffee table book. Ray |

Dave, you did great with this pano - been there and you definitely need a pano to do the canyon justice and you took it at just the right time of day. I like the lower right with the snow and the outcrop as it helps place me on the rim. And like others, once was enough - in my mid 30s hiked with friends to Phantom Ranch, then to the north rim (bottom only) and then back through the ranch and out - fond memories but I plan to keep it that way. Butch, I agree with what's been said and I kinda lean toward the B&W version as I think it adds "moodiness" to the image. Even without reading the comments, I thought there was a great juxtaposition between the power pole and the lightning strike. There seems to be something of a double image around the pole on the left side as we face it and there are 2 diagonal lines coming from lower left toward the top of the pole that catch my eye for no good reason. Sherry, yes a great image that expresses a wonderful mood. The hammock certainly adds to that mood and I can see this as a print on the wall of the house where that was taken. I agree with the butch that the pines should go if possible as they take away from the simplicity of the image. I am not sure I agree with the right edge crop that Butch did as I find the 2 chairs on that side to add interest. But if you did a crop on hat side I wouold bring the right edge into where the rainbow intersects with the upper right corner - just a thought. Ray |

Ian, Thanks - I went back and checked in the original - its spray from the waves coming through those rocks - easy enough to fix since I well know that once we see something that bothers us in an image, it never goes away. |
