Gary - super B&W - just a wonderful image and I agree that this is likely better than in color. One thing I tend to do when looking at images is to scan the edges to see if anything could be removed/de-emphasized, whatever. I almost hate to say this but there is a tiny spot right at the edge on the right just above the mts that could be deleted (or not) as you choose. And I wonder if the bright log? in the water in the middle of the image is worth keeping or not. Am not sure either way but maybe worth comparing with and without. Ray |

Ian, ICM is a interesting technique and requires not too little movement and not too much and you got it just right and as "impact" is in the mind of the beholder, my preversion is your version with the sky - I think that helps by providing an edge to the image and the blue tone helps to set of the green and brown, by then that's me. Have tried ICM using my camera and also making a photo look like ICM in post using photoshop and I have had much more control using the latter but then that's the lazy way so you have my compliments. Butch - I had to laugh when I saw this image and read the description. I will be on a photo trip to Bisti during the 2nd week of Nov, this year so am looking forward to seeing some of the same sights. What time of the year were you there? I am surprised by you having rain/double rainbow as I would not have expected any rain out there considering how arid it is and managing to get the primary bow in that gap is amazing. I agree with Ian about those rocks on the right and the halo at the top of the main formation and on the one lower to the its right. And can you tell me the exact location - probably not but thought I would ask. Ray |

Sherry - your photos tells it all and being able to spot that potential image as you were in a traveling group and being willing to ask them to stop so you could take that image says a lot about you as a photographer - some would not have seen that possibility and some even if they saw it might not have been willing to ask to stop. Tree is in the best position, with the grass pointing left. While looking at it, it appeared to me that there might be a dark "edge" to the right leaning limb on the lower side? You might want to take a look. Ray |

Thanks Ian, and of course I hope to live long and prosper at least in terms of getting better at photography. Ray

Thanks Butch - as you might imagine, it is one of my favorite because it was so unexpected. |
