Mo, lovely, lovely, lovely with bold colors - my only comment is that I agree with Marti about the 2 white spots on the right edge but only suggest removing the bit of petal sticking in in the upper right corner. And, yes, like you, I treasure the various kinds of lilies we grow. Ray |

Alison, Yup - you did great with this image especially in isolating it from the very busy background and I agree that there is just too much space on both sides so a vertical aspect would be better. A note - there seems to be 2 main approaches to cropping - one is to always maintain a standard format while the other is to crop to what makes for the best image regardless of the aspect ratio. I am of the latter approach. It might depend on how the image is to used but I recall the words of a very famous photographer when asked about whether or not his crops make it more difficult for a buyer to frame - his answer was that if they can afford my prints, they can afford to have them custom framed. I admit I am not there and likely never will but for your image I wold just crop off a lot of the right and left sides. Ray |

Murphy, one of the fascinating aspects of art/photography is how different people see the same image. In contrast to Alison. I keep seeing the fence which brings me into the image but then out as well without really ever looking at the far background. So, a suggestion is to crop off the upper third or so - enough that the fence become more prominant. Good image with great colors. |

Vincent - you did great at isolating the flower and reducing the very busy background. At that f-stop, it would be difficult to be close and getthe whole flower in focus, which is why the tip of the plant at the far right is soft. I wonder if the white area are blown out as they do not seem to have any texture? Also, for me, I keep looking at the background to see if I can make sense of the pattern so maybe making it even more darker might be useful, for example, by using the saturation slider? Ray |

Marti - thanks, you are correct - as it is not a true monochrome as there was some color still in the leaf despite being frozen. Ray |

Alison, good point and I did struggle with some of the background in order to isolate the leaf - will need to do better next time. |
