Thank you, Dean! This was a tricky photo on a lot of levels. I was happy to find a dragonfly that was willing to sit still long enough to get a sharp photo. |

Thanks for the tips! I have a Nikon Z7ii with focus shift (stacking) that I didn't even think about for an insect. One thing I wondered about was that the wings of the dragonfly are see-through and that doing too much to the background would make the wings look out of place. I do like the idea of using the brush and exposure. I'll maybe go back and play around with that. |

I love those feet! The water is great. Would it be possible to bring the whites out in the bird just a tad more? It feels a little dark to me. |

Cindy - I really like this image. I love the crop. it causes me to ask questions about what's going on. It tells a story without telling the whole story. It helps me to make up my own story. I love how this makes me feel. I also love how the baby is wrapped up into the mother and it feels so warm. It's just beautiul. |

I like your photo and agree that the background fights for attention, but I also like the texture, color, and focus of the background. Dean's crop removes that tension between the subject and background. Maybe you could keep some of the background if you centered the flower/bee and put a little vignetting around the edge to bring your eye back to center. Also I would lighten up the bee a tiny bit to get some of the bee's texture. |

I would have loved to have been able to get a better background. Maybe next summer! I did try darkening the background, but see-through wings made it hard. Thanks for your input! |
