I love Costa Rica! Beautiful country with lots of beautiful birds. This is a great image of the toucan and I appreciate that you caught him in all his majesty and colors. The bokeh background complement the bird well and does not detract from the main subject. I would suggest that the eye be lightened up to enhance the catch light. Good job at capturing detail in the black feathers - the flash undoubtedly helped with this aspect. Great image! |

It is sunny on the peak! The clouds and blue sky add to the appeal of this photo. While there are shadows on the hillside, there is still enough detail and the exposure looks good. The only thing I might do is bring up the saturation on the hillside, particularly the tallest hills in the background. It might be more compelling if the tall mountains popped a bit more as this is the central focus of the image. |

This is a very captivating photo. The foreground flowers and bowl lead you to the open window with a lovely background. I appreciate that the light parts of the background are not blown out and still relatively sharp. The texture of the walls and warm tones give it an antiquing quality. I think you did an excellent job of balancing light and color in a highly contrast image. Excellent work! |

Subject is interesting and lighting looks good on bottom half, the top part is a little dark, but maybe this was intentional. Top right there is a wrench of some kind that distracts from the plates. I'm guessing you did not use a tripod. If that's the case, well done in getting the plates sharp at 1/30s. I'm not sure where you want the viewer to focus and my eye seems to more throughout the image. Again, this may have been your intent. |

I think this is a beautiful image and the background texture/lighting add to its appeal. The flower itself is sharp with the exception of the back petals on top. Did you use focus stacking? Shooting white is difficult and you have managed to capture a lot of detail. Again, the top part of petals in back are little blown out and lost some detail. Otherwise this is a great image and a difficult to shoot. Well done! |

Interesting concept John. I have never heard of polar coordinates and would like further explanation as to how you achieved this image and what the original looked like. I am amazed, almost daily, at what Photoshop can do. It looks like the black loop on left is a little fuzzy, but maybe this was intentional. |
