Further to Mark's comment, this bird seems to be demerged from the background. There seems to be no rain falls in the foreground. |

At F1.8, the depth of field is very shallow. If the focal point is not on the face of the subject, there is a high chance that the camera is taking elsewhere as the reference point for the depth of view, thus causing the face to be not so focused as the surrounding areas. |

The B&W version has more texture on the skins. The subject is sharp.
I agreed with Jody. Why you need to remove a big portion of the image!! |
