63 May 17 Comment Priscilla, I love the color, the soft lighting and particularly the leading lines of this image. In my opinion they all make a very pleasing presentation for a beautiful subject. May 24th
63 May 17 Comment Hi Pat, nice lighting, great blurred background, and an interesting spring image. I wondered about the square crop thinking it might work, but do think a little less background on the bottom and side might emphasize the subject. I like simple images like this myself. Good job. 63 May 17 Comment I love how the subject is so wonderfully sharp and the background so nicely blurred. I've been trying to think if I like if flipped or not and really can decide. My eye goes right to the bee and then moves up the stem all along those little furry tentacles. I guess I'm with Pat, either way, a gorgeous image. From Murphy's response to Lisa, I'm wondering if others are having trouble with the website? May 24th
63 May 17 Reply I am so sorry about these issues. Does Tom know about this from your past correspondence with him or do I need to contact him? May 24th
63 May 17 Reply Very proud to be mistaken for Murphy with such a nice image. May 24th
63 May 17 Comment Khai, you always work so hard to get crisp, sharp images, but I do agree that this is a little over sharp (easy to do) and the background busy. I think the Nik plug-in that Lisa used helps a lot--smoothing out the petals, pushing back the background, but maintaining sharpness in the "freckled" area I really wanted to see sharp. Wish she would share which one she used. I love the little flower; not sure I have seen this variety before. Thanks for introducing me to it. May 24th
63 May 17 Comment Lisa, I have got to try this. Your image is a good teaching example for this technique. Thanks for helping me with it a few months ago. I love the colors and the way you made use of the light. Great, creative image. May 24th
63 May 17 Reply Good suggestion about the top. I tried to burn it, but that didn't work well. Probably should have just painted it black and then added a small border to set the image away from the black on the site as Murray suggested. May 24th
63 May 17 Comment Karen, this is so creative, it could pass for a puppet of a strange monkey species. I love particularly the lighting and the crisp detail in the yellow fur. And of course, the little finger at the bottom pointing out adds a something special. The background color sets it out nicely from the black on the website and compliments the colors in the subject. And you know I love focus stacking; such a neat process. I don’t see anything I would change. May 24th
