63 Feb 17 Reply I finally got to play with some of your suggestions. I haven't gotten the hang of the wave filter and will have to work with that some more. I had used a filter called "flood" years ago, but it is only for PC and not Mac. I remember it being much easier than wave. I did the most with your final suggestion and liked two of the images. I'll include them. Feb 28th
63 Feb 17 Comment Hi Priscilla, I think the design is most interesting, and the shot well done especially considering the low light conditions. Murphy was asking about the sharpness of the image, and it seems that the front hand is in focus and the back is not due to the small depth of field produced by the wide aperture. I don't know that it bothers me, but if you wanted to bring the back hand in sharp focus a simple focus stack, perhaps with just two shots might do the trick. For me, it would also be important to leave the garments as blurred as possible to emphasize the hands. The Henna color against the soft, brown skin looks nice to me. Most interesting shot from what must have been a fascinating bizaar. Thanks for sharing. Feb 23rd
63 Feb 17 Comment Hi Murphy, I like the lines in this image and the way they swirl in and out leading to the interesting little triangle like figure, which is placed right at one of the rule of thirds cross sections. Such a nice composition, which is something your images have taught me. The dark against the light areas give contrast and depth to what would otherwise be a flat image I imagine. At first, I wasn't sure about the texture, but like it more and more and I consider the image over the past few days. Nice image, thanks for sharing. Feb 21st
63 Feb 17 Comment Hi Karen, I like shooting this sort of thing and appreciate how difficult it is. I love the circular shapes and textures on the coins, along with the random nature of the image. The question always becomes, which is the one I had for a similar image I had evaluated awhile back, what is the main focus of the image. I can see some possibilities. Maybe deepening the shadows along with darkening and lighting the area you want to emphasize might give me some direction. Perhaps a vignette could draw my eye into the area you want me to see or either some selected focus on a word or figure. I haven't tried this in a few years and you've given me some ideas of what I might do with something like this. Thanks for sharing this. Feb 21st
