19 Sep 24 Comment Jay, what a beautiful effect to the rocking chair. It really gives it a moving effect. Well done on a,wily chosen lens. I love it Sep 23rd
19 Sep 24 Comment Norm,
It is not uncommon to have the background bright and the subject darker especially in close up. But you nailed it perfectly. The sharp details and blurred background... well done

19 Sep 24 Comment Stan,
As usual perfect execution. Where it is normal practice to use a closed aperture as you did, I would go wide open to blur the background and concentrate more on the birds.

19 Sep 24 Comment H,
The peaches are sharp and full of texture. The depth of field is good too. The only minor comment i have is - too much while wall behind. I personally find it distracting.

19 Sep 24 Comment Hi John
To be honest l was a bit confused.
Not because there is anything wrong with the image presented, on the contrary, it is very colorful and interesting, but because the original is so beautiful. The yellow leaves against the blue sky is simply gorgeous. I guess i like both.

19 Sep 24 Comment Wow this is a front cover picture! The couple on the right next to the couple on the left, the reflection histogram. - You nailed it. Kudos to you

36 Sep 24 Reply are you around the Blue Ridge ? I thought Im the only one in SW VA Sep 22nd
36 Sep 24 Comment Bill, Im not a big fan of panoramic pictures however, this one is as good as they get. The horizon is straight the, the exposure is even on all 2.5 sides and the subject is clear. Well done.

36 Sep 24 Comment I love B&W I love Bridges and I love water fronts. All together in one picture executed to perfection. beautiful.
I am missing a sail bot in the foreground, maybe next time.

36 Sep 24 Comment M, this is a magazine photo. Kudos to you. perhaps a bit more elevated angle looking at the water would add a blue water spit around the boat separating it from the background.

36 Sep 24 Comment Larry,
what a story. interesting process and a lot of dedication. while I do like the the idea and the choice of diagonal is great few thoughts to consider:
The starts in the background and perhaps the trails as well are not sharp. The noise level in the middle ground ( lake ) is distracting my eye. It Is regardless a striking image.

36 Sep 24 Comment Hi B,
Very nicely executed, I call this process imagery as it made of different photographs (but that just for my differentiation). It looks seamless and smooth. The house to me becomes the subject but the surrounding and the beautiful night skies really stands out. It is balanced and engaging. I love it.

83 Sep 24 Comment Lance,
while I do agree with the your proposed narrative and the strong composition, the depth of field is a bit overwhelming mind as well the high contrast and a lot of details. My personal interpretation to maintain the story is f2.8 where the front subjects are in focus but the further back elements are only partially clear.

83 Sep 24 Comment Elise,
Very nice scene. The B&W adds a lot and the edit is spot on. The leading lines are complimenting the subject. One minor note - the clarity slider is too high in my view

83 Sep 24 Comment Don, Congratulations on a great picture. the texture and the composition. A slightly different crop where the black line goes diagonally corner to corner. Food for thought... Sep 22nd
83 Sep 24 Comment I love the humor and the B&W. Its like a vintage picture from an old magazine. See proposed crop

83 Sep 24 Reply I perfectly agree with the idea Sep 22nd
83 Sep 24 Reply Elise, Welcome to the group. Thanks for the suggestion.
My photography has strict rules. One of which I never deviate from 1:1.5 ratio Vertical or horizontal. I believe that learning to frame a photograph is better than taking a picture and then looking for the right crop. I guess this is personal view.

I call it Tension Element. You'll see it next month too. Its an element not related to the subject that creates engagement by its distraction of some sort.

83 Sep 24 Reply Well, Im glad you like it. Now can come over and we can go find this tree again to photograph it properly with a camera and tripod. :)
