This is a beautiful picture. The layers of branches against the mist / fog is outstanding. I works well in color and B&W. I recommend you looking the book Trees by Michael Kenna |

Stan, you are a pro and the picture shows it. I do have one comment: why f5.6 and not f16 that would have made the eye sharp.

This is a very strong picture. The lines and the composition. Very good choice. Is that a crop of a bigger image ?

John, I like the exposure choice of shallow depth of field. I could still the the forest in the background yet not too much to distract my attention. The low shutter speed shows the moving steam as the train goes.Nicely done !

I agree with Barbara. simple and effective. The edit makes all the difference. The way you have made a dramatic impression with the sky adds so much. nicely done |

Arne - In my view this is one of your better pictures you have presented yet. the rock in the front is located beautiful between the other ones in the back and the water on the shore - just does it. This picture will work great in B&W too. I love it !

I love the leading lines and the warm sunrise colors. The composition and angle a done well as well. I wonder about long exposure... what would the water look like ? |

Im very much in the same opinion of the other members. The sky, the couple ... all well done. one thought- a lower angle would have located the couple against a brighter section of the cloud and will make them pop out.

I do agree with negative space created between the turbines and from my personal standpoint - you caught my intent. |

Valid points. I'm not bothered with the cross. while it is there no-one will argue this-is the subject nor the story. For me this is like taking a picture of a car for a magazine and seeing there is a fly on the windshield. Im really limiting my editing and very most cases avoiding cloning; altering the frame. Thanks |

Thank you for the good thoughts. Im not sure about the person. I do agree with shooting it from further right. I was shooting through a fence so getting closer was not an option. |

This is a wonderful picture! I used to go myself to photograph leges of women in church Sundays ( I wonder what people thought of me :) ) The leges between the legs top left - are the main interest. I love it. I do have a few thoughts:
1. Is this a cropped ver or the entire frame? (it feels like a cropped 35mm lens)
2. why 2000 iso ?
3. consider a bit less white floor in the foreground. |

Don, first- The picture is very well composed and the interaction between the roof and the clouds is very well done. the edit is dramatic not too much and the geometry in well chose. This is a picture for a book. It reminds me of the Ansel Adams pictures from New Mexico. Specifically- the change in lines does not effect the picture too much one way or the other. Personally - I prefer straight. |

Michael, the choice of a square frame is very suitable for this picture. It emphasizes the symmetry. The Edit is good you have almost a full dynamic range. The symmetry is well posed (Im not in the same opinion as Lance only on this specific frame) and the subject is made clear. The vertical tree on the right in the back is a distraction. perhaps if you stand further to the right looking more to the left it can be avoided. All together - well done |

Hi Mark, Im in the same opinion of the members above. I took this shot wide and low interestingly enough with runners too :) B&W. The symmetry and cables are all leading to the runner. I do have one comment - the histogram is missing white. |

Thanks Don. I like the thoughts. The dark spot was simply there so I didn't remove it. |
