19 Dec 23 Reply Lance thank you for the warm words. This is work in progress. I have posted on PSA 3,4 pictures of the collection. I would love to have the opportunity to write an article on this or exhibit it on PSA.

Specifically: The above description is exactly explained above. As you know by now I solve almost everything inside the camera.

19 Dec 23 Comment well done ! a simple picture that tell a great story with humor. This is one of these cases where the technical aspect is not even needed to tell the story. good capture ! Dec 15th
19 Dec 23 Comment Stan,
very interesting pictures. tell a great story. what are the crop ratios ?

19 Dec 23 Comment beautiful texture. very nicely done. Did you consider a higher contrast ?

19 Dec 23 Comment john,
usually the subject is brighter than the background. you managed to create a silhouette of the subject which tells an entire story. well done !

19 Dec 23 Comment Thank you Norm. I appreciate the review. As for the lamps:
A- yes they are intended to " turn on the lights" in the viewers mind's
B- I ONLY work 1:1.5 ratio (3:4) cropping the lamps while maintaining the story and proportions is not possible in my opinion.

19 Dec 23 Comment I love it. I would put it on my wall in the living room!
This is the result of 8 different exposures merged into one ?

36 Dec 23 Comment Thank you D. I appreciate the thoughts.
Im trying to keep pictures as I saw them when I took them with minimal editing. I agree with your approach.

36 Dec 23 Comment Good to know that! Dec 13th
36 Dec 23 Comment Thank you Michael,I appreciate your insight.
I tend to "over clean" scenes ( in the field) and over worried at times. You clarified it for me. Thank you.

36 Dec 23 Comment "I think the strength of the tree overcomes the brightness of the sky in the left corner" YEA ! this is spot on. Thank you very much for that !

36 Dec 23 Comment D, your edits are always very interesting. Your ability to take an average frame and to make it special is outstanding. not undermining the picture but the edit is wonderful. the shades, colors it just adds up and tells the story of the mystery forest. good job!

36 Dec 23 Comment M, This is a classic ! my photo buddy M, took in this point in a very similar position the same frame but with a red dressed lady. what I like in particular about your picture is the fact the subject is in lower EV comparing the the background yet pops out! the edit of the hills is spot on and the dynamic range is phenomenal. I like it a lot. Dec 10th
36 Dec 23 Comment Brilliant Dec 8th
36 Dec 23 Comment Bill,
this is a good picture. Good composition good exposure and good edit. I like the leading line of the valley. I do have one question: Of the 5 peeks in the picture which is the Olympus?

36 Dec 23 Comment I share Larry's thoughts. The intimate view and the position is great.

36 Dec 23 Comment The composition the texture on the ground - all adds up. Im troubled by the spot light the right (not the pole).
see proposed closer crop

83 Dec 23 Comment Thanks Mark Dec 8th
83 Dec 23 Comment M, This is a good one. simple clear and done properly. Is this a square crop ? If so, why ?

83 Dec 23 Comment Lance, the exposure and contrast are as good as it gets.
2 thoughts:
1- what is the subject - the tree or clouds? if the tree then the clouds get too much attention (big white spot). If the clouds - then cut out the tree ?
2. the foreground under the tree in my opinion is missing and "compressing" the subject.

83 Dec 23 Comment I love it. very interesting and good contrast. Do you have it landscape format too ? Im interested to see if it works so well too

83 Dec 23 Comment Good picture, good composition good exposure good contrast and good edit in my view. however, the sky is blank without details and taking too much attention. consider darkening it, cropping it smaller etc...

Dec 8th
83 Dec 23 Comment I like the idea of the 2 bodies of in the 2 frames. i do agree that a closer crop keeps the attention more on the subject as Michael suggested.

83 Dec 23 Comment Debish, this is interesting. The contrast and texture good I think different lighting or perhaps a brighter spot on the leaves with give the picture depth and life to the subject.
