19 Nov 23 Comment Harriet, The lighting is my view is the most dominant in this picture. It is implied by the title too. My question is - what is the the main subject of the picture? the plant or shadows ?

19 Nov 23 Reply Thanks Stan. I agree about one point of interest. However documentary, abstract minimalism and this type ( don't have a term for it) do not always follow the "rules". Im glad if works for you. Next month ill post another picture from the same project " Transparent Faces" Nov 26th
19 Nov 23 Reply Thank you. Indeed this is the intent - to make the viewer discover the picture. Nov 26th

19 Nov 23 Comment Mel, the colors are superb. is AI ? or did you compose the items together in the studio ?

19 Nov 23 Comment Norm, nice composition. a good balance between the boat and the house. I wonder if by choosing a bit lower angle you would hide the "spikes " of the dock and raise the roof line higher in the sky. Nov 5th
19 Nov 23 Comment Stan, well done. i love the positioning of the "red girl" and the balance of the peaks under the horizon.

19 Nov 23 Comment John I like the graphics and the proportions. The horizon line is tilted low to the left a bit. is that intentional ?

83 Nov 23 Reply Hi Mark -
"impression that I got from the photo. Perhaps that is because, in this country, rail has not evolved all that much in the last 70 years compared to the rest of the rail world." - AGREED ! very interesting :)

83 Nov 23 Comment Margaret, this is a positive note for a picture you don't like. That is perfectly fine. I appreciate your insight. We can't like everything:) Nov 10th
83 Nov 23 Comment Interesting moment. Most certainly it is clear what is the subject. :). Im missing a bit of contrasts.

83 Nov 23 Comment Lance, is that a print ? or digital scan of of the negative then edited ? It is a very intimate picture and the texture of the round leaves in the centerline is very interesting. reminds me of Georgia O'kceeffe Nov 7th
83 Nov 23 Comment The tonal range and the balance make it an Ansel Adams picture like. Interestingly enough the edges on both sides are very dark and becoming white towards the center. Nicely done Mark

83 Nov 23 Comment Good composition. the grass in the foreground adds a lot to the story and atmosphere. HDR works very well for this lighting. Did you choose intentionally equll sky and foreground ? I would try less sky Nov 7th
83 Nov 23 Comment Wonderful. the girl, the hands on left pane. just wonderful! Nov 7th
83 Nov 23 Comment I have so many scenes like this,. and the more I see it the more I love it. Did you try higher contrast ? Nov 6th
