Thank you Mike and Spring for providing your feedback. I carefully read your comments and suggestion and I tried to adjust the image slightly. I have added a layer to burn slightly the area around the statue that now should stand out a little better. I still believe this is the better composition for this image. As Mike said it is what we like that matters most.
Looking forward to get your feedbacks

Hi Spring,
In summary I believe this is great image that is well balanced with wonderful light and reflections. I suggested trying to clone out the people but I agree with you it would change anything. You mentioned regarding the idea this would would like a staged image. I am not sure if this would be the case, but in this session this would not a big deal. Changing the sky on other hand to me would make this image "fake". Just my 2 cents thought.

thank you John for your comment and your suggestion. I think your suggestion to have just the church using a vertical crop is ok. I think the one with the statue is not working for me. I personally still prefer my original image, because, in my mind provides a better idea of the place and as mentioned in my description I think the statue and the church balance the image.

Thank you Tom for your kind comment. These valley after WWII where very popular. They are closed to the city of Torino (60 km) they could be reached easily by families that could spend there all summer (it was call "villegiatura"). However, with few exceptions they did not develop them too much. From one side this is great, but from the other side, people started to look for more "fancy" locations. More the "rural mountain farming" is a hard work that requires a lot of sacrifices and little by little it disappeared.
I am attaching a picture of the interior. Unfortunately, I had to take through the gate (if you enlarged the image the frames are much less evident). Next time I will ask the guardian to open the church (there are advantages of knowing him since I was a child...).

John, I really like this image and your decision to present it in monochrome. Is a moody image capturing well the feeling of an early morning on the lake with the fog creating patterns and a negative space almost framing the hills. All together an excellent work.

nice portrait Mike. Great details and good eye contact. I think the image would probably benefit a little from some more space on the left.

Tom this is an excellent image documenting this outstanding fortress. I think you have done a great work in the composition. My eyes go from the upper border on the left down following a diagonal of the building, then following the horizontal line of the wall in the lower part of the image. There is a little bit of the ocean so I know this is a place located over the sea. The two churches stand out well and add balance to the image. The clouds are the icing on the cake. The image is somewhere "pixeled" but I guess this is because the low resolution required for uploading.

Very nice capture Susan. I think the monochrome version works better to me. Since the tuba player is the one glancing to the camera, I think you can try to lightening a little his face that is quiet dark.

Keisha, I think this is a wonderful street image. You capture the character well and even without your description we would be able to image the story. The "cigar?" in his hand and his expression are details that add a lot to the story.
Well done

Marianne, apparently you were not the only "photographer" on hunt. Using phone cameras for street photo is becoming a standard. I guess they warrant less attention from the subjects since they are not appendixes of our hands... I think the exposure and sharpness of the image is spot on. From the composition point of view, I think the photographer on the right is taking a lot of attention from the main subject. Maybe you have another image without him? I think it would be a much strong story.

Lou, this is technically a good image with perfect lighting. The heads of the group of people are photographed below the horizon of the ocean in the background, which is nicely composed. Personally, I prefer your original crop-perhaps you could crop a little from the left so the image follows the rule of thirds more closely? I think the boy's face is a bit too bright (it almost has a halo effect). The photo tells a story, but to be honest, I find it a bit "ordinary"-there's nothing particularly unique about the story it conveys.
Best wishes
