Mike I would agree with Tom in this case, the softness of the image create the mood and almost a painterly effect that adds interest.

John, this is a very nice work with a good composition. I think you can probably get a more impactful image if you crop the foreground water. This will take away some elements that doesn't provide any additional information, will make the surfer bigger and will bring him to the lower third.

Spring, I really like your image. It conveys the feeling of the sunset when everything calm down. The silhouette looks trying to find a balance as a metaphor of life when we see the end of the day. I would not change a thing.

Thank you John for your kind comment. One of the luxury of medium format camera with a 106 Mega pixels sensor, is that you don't need really a long lens. You can crop the image as much as you want with loosing sharpness or definition. However, in this case, I tried different crops and to me this is the most balance (at least the one I like more).

Thank you Spring for your kind words and comments. I have images with a longer exposure, the problem in this case is that the moon moves very fast (faster of what we believe) and anything more of 1-2 seconds creates a problem. Also, and this is my personal taste, the long exposure images I have would create a wrong feeling compared to the rest of the scenery.

Mike, this is very kind of you and I much appreciate your input. About the light, I think that I made a good decision of not leaving and just wait. Most of the people there that night were disappointed by the fact the moon did not show up before complete dark so they just left.
Have a great day

Tom, thank you for taking your time to comment on my image and for trying to figure out from where this image was taken. This image was taken from the road the follow the coast. It is relatively easy to stop along the road. You just need to step on the other side of the guard rail. I had to walk a little to find the position I liked.

Hi Keisha, I really like this image. Is sharp and the shadow of the singer adds a lot to the story.
Thank you for sharing

Lou, sorry to be late to the chat. March has been an hectic months for work. I agree with Stephen comment. The image is interesting and depict a every day life scenery in a nice way. The colors look like an HDR image. It may add some interest, but I agree they look fake. It may be that topaz has a role in this.
