Thank you Mike and Tom. Much appreciated your kind words. I am attaching another image of the same scenery but with a little bit of more action.
After few thoughts I prefer the one attached here.

Thank you Nigel. Much appreciate your kind word. I learn about the fluorescent white setting from Bryan Peterson an excellent photographer and this has become my preference for the blue hour now.

This is a very nice composition John. I am not sure why you decided to replace the sky. While you have done a good job in replacing the sky,the color of sunset do not match the color on the rocks and in the ocean. This makes the image clearly fake. To me you have a very interesting sky in your original image with great clouds and I think you could have get a great photo just warming up a little the colors and keep the original one. This is obviously a personal taste.

I love Portugal and this image convey a great representation of the city of Porto. I have been there few times and I think Porto, as many other Portugal cities and towns needs to be discover by walking in the street and alleys. Your image is very sharp and the blue hours together with the lights help to create interest and highlight the buildings.
Excellent work

Hi Mike,
I found the composition of this image appealing but I agree with you that having the moon out of focus is detrimental to the image. You don't report the parameter for shooting but in an image like this you could have use the hyperfocal method and everything should beyond the barn frame could have been on focus. I also think that trying to place the moon less central could have help the image to be stronger.

This is a nice composition Ted. You have done a good job in isolating the tree. You have taken this image with a direct front light and this has created a clipping of the highlight with loss of details.I am wondering if getting more lateral you could get a better light on the tree. Also the branch of the trees on the right side create some distraction and another point of view could have eliminate them from the frame.

This is a wonderful scenery Theresa and you have captured this well. I am wondering if with a wide angle lens you could achieved the same result using an horizontal format. I personally struggle with square format for landscape. It creates tension. Is obviously a question of personal taste. Regardless, I like this image.

This is a very nice street/documentary photography Tom. The car is the main subject. I like the leading line of the sidewalk the guide my eye to the back of the scene. The line create by the buildings to the side of the image create also a frame that force me to look behind the car. Both the bicycle taxi and the car are next to a public phone suggesting they are waiting for somebody to call (although the guy in the car has a cell phone). My only suggestion is to consider increasing the saturation of the car to create some color contrast. |
