Nigel, this looks a wonderful place to spend time for photography. I like your composition and the way you place the main rock. I find the image a little flat and also believe the partial tree on the right is distracting. I took the liberty to crop your image a little, so the subject become clearly the rock. I also give a punch to the flower in the foreground since they are the only note of color. Please let me know what do you think.

Mike, this is a nice image. I also like the various hues of hues for the walls and the pattern of the walls. I think the image is a little flat and I am wondering if pushing a little the contrast in the door would help to give some life to the image. I know we can take images of what we see, but I personal think the door would be more interesting if it was half opened because it would create some sort of expectation. This however is just my personal taste. I took the liberty to take your image and adding some contrast. I also add a layer for increased details in the door and in the wall where there is some structure. Let me know your thoughts. |

A beautiful scenery Tom. Like your framing and the clouds that create a framing to the lighthouse. I think the vertical crop is perfect for this image.I also like the way you capture the green bushes, they are forming a triangle that is always a strong composition element.Maine coast is on my list of places to visit.
