Thank you John,
I have opened up the shadow a little on the beach. However, I did not exaggerated this because is a "black beach" being a volcanic one and in my opinion it would be "unrealistic" if there are too many details at night. I think with your and Mike's suggestion the image is definitively improved. |

John, I really like this image for reasons Tom pointed out. The water is just leading the eye from up to the bottom. I am wondering if it would be worth to darken a little the rocks in the upper portion of the image. They are very bright and take away slightly the attention from the waterfall and the rest of the image.

Tom, this is so kind of you. The stars actually shined that way. It was one of the most memorable night of my life.

Hi Nigel, it looks this is a wonderful location and your image provides an idea of the potential of this place. Since, as you mention, the light wasn't that great but the flowers had some nice light, maybe a cropped image to provide a more intimate image could have been a better choice? I think in this image the purple flower get somewhere lost.

I like this image Mike and your composition is very appealing, with the contrast between the direction the cranes are walking and the coyote going in the other way. My only comment is about having half of the image out of focus and half in focus. I understand this likely related to the aperture you used but to me it makes difficult to focus on the subject that I think are the three animals.
I have the Sigma 150-600 OS and I love the sharpness of that lens (I have taken some of my best images with it). I know there are several version of the lens so maybe that is the reason.

Hi Theresa, this is a very interesting image and you capture in a great way the atmosphere of a foggy morning on the beach. I think the most interesting part of your image include the houses and the beach. I think the vehicle track help to create the mood of the image. What I would do however, is cropping much of the sky. Your image is almost 50/50 and the sky, in my opinion, is not that interesting. I also agree with Mike that you can crop out the bright staircase. A sepia conversion could also be an idea considering the image is almost monochrome.

A very nice "street photography" image Tom. It let the observer to image the story behind. I like the contrast between the old car and the street almost dismissed and the couple that is clear "more modern". I also like that the guy is wearing a white shirt so there is some contrast and separation from the car and the lady that is also wearing red. Is like to have different layers of color.
I agree with Mike that opening the shadow would help the image.

Hi Mike,
thank you for your kind comment to my image. I much appreciate it. That night was special and I have to admit at certain point, I just sat on the beach and enjoyed the spectacle stop to shooting.
I am attaching the revised version. Indeed, this was the version I wanted to upload but I pick up the wrong file (not unusual for me)
Best wishes
