Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
58 Feb 24 Comment This image captures the precision and seriousness of military performing this type ceremony. I have seen similar images from their in the past so I suspect having tourists mak1ng photos of this event is not a concern to the government. From a military point of view there is no information in the image that might be deemed sensitive. I make that statement based on the old type rifle they are carrying in a very awkward and difficult way. You can also see the concentration and commitment to duty in the face of the front left soldier. I agree with Isaac in that it is unfortunate you lost the lower portion of some of the legs. I did put the image in topaz and used motion blur at around 48 which cleared up and improved the detail in the face a bit. There was a cost as in the poste image there is a very slight highlight along the leg which does not impact your image at all but with the sharpening it brought it out a bit. Some that could be fixed but time is not available right now. Feb 7th
58 Feb 24 Comment Good timing on this image plus the less than level or square framing of the stairs, wall, and railings, add to the effort the young women is putting in to move the carriage down, that effort is apparent in her face. The "v" formed by the railings also leads one to her face. Feb 7th
58 Feb 24 Comment This is a good image right from the overall scene to the lighting in the back and the detail in the people, The cropping in spot on. I also like your BW worker and it strikes me as a candid portriat of a "workman" plying his craft, so I think as such it would qualify as a street image. Feb 7th
58 Feb 24 Comment I like this image and would not change anything. The cow seems quite relaxed something I am not used to seeing up here with that particular breed, but then again they are not treated the same. There is also a bit of humour in the image with the cow being tied to the grill of the car. One sharp turn or movement to the left and good bye grill. Picking that up attests to the detail you captured. well Done

58 Feb 24 Comment This is a very interesting photo of an environment a lot of us are unfamiliar with. The colours are bright and stand out including the exposure details in the people but not so bright as to over power the image and the message/story I get from the image. Perhaps a slight cropping on the right side up to the building would balance both sides with an equal space between the two persons on the edges of the image. I like this image. Feb 7th

74 Feb 24 Comment Hi Haru, I like the BW image as it is over the colour you captured a simple forest scene really well. Attention is drawn through the trees to the one dark tree just off centre. I also like Don's edit and I think it does create a slightly different impression, more of a walk through a shady forest enjoying how the light plays on the scene. Both are well done and both convey the story well as to what I think the intent was. Feb 17th
74 Feb 24 Reply I was thinking of entering this in a nature (wildlife competition) at some point with CAPA and although the wharf can be considered as an adaptive environment it is still the considered the Hand of Man and as such is limited to 10% of the scene. In this case it works out to just over 7%. and thank you for your cmmonents

74 Feb 24 Comment Have to learn to proof read, last sentence should be "I would not recommend"

74 Feb 24 Comment Fog images withboats and people are really common out here on the coast. Of the many I have and even taken this one really stands out for me. Like always I tried a couple of edits and a couple of different crops including on the three crops I tried I discarded them with the exception of one that was in line with a earlier comment in that I reduced the amound of dead space in the sky. that one I think worked well with the image. I did some masking of the woman walking into the fog and changed the expsure slightly bringing her out somewhat, could even see the details in her hair. Although it turned out not too bad, it radically change the mood or emotion of your image, and that was not something I would recommend As to your image really well done. Feb 8th
74 Feb 24 Comment To, and based on your description, the image conveys a very strong message or story. Initially my thoughts were to not change anything. However Melissa's edit strenghend for me the story I envisioned. That being people making a major change in there lives and moving from the dark of the past to the light and better future. A very well thought out and presented image. Feb 8th
74 Feb 24 Comment This is an image I really like. To me, given the size of the man and his "pose" (I am not implying it is a staged photograph) against the large wall and your including a fairly large forground of paving stones, creates a sense of limited hope if any on his part , in his own worth or part of the world. The detail is excellent, I would not change anything in this image. Feb 8th
74 Feb 24 Comment Very nice wedding shot. I like both versions. I agree with Melissa's comments on lighting the beard and the Brides left eye some and taking the highlights out of the background. I think going one step further I might consider blending in the long grey section with the rest of the background such that it does not stand out as a separate part of the background. Feb 8th
