Reding right to left is something I was told worked for proof reading and as I am a terrible proof reader I started it and it is becoming a bit of a habit on first look at anything, still work to do on the proof reading though it is helping

The scene in the image is something we can all relate to in our own lives when we were out with our kids. It does capture the moment well. you are a bit hard on yourself in your appraisal, as we cannot always get what we envision when on the street and things are unfolding. I think your comment re: removing the mother does make sense as then there is a nice line between the child and her doll (in the carraige) and the man sitting down. With the mother out one can using some license see this a the girl telling her grandfather he rested enough we are going for ice cream. I toned it in Viveza and sharpened it a bit in Topaz. |

I also think the color image would be my choice due to the colourfull nature of the procession. As a toned image it does to some degree reflect (except for the clothing worn) documentary images of this event from days past. So to some degree it is successful in that respect. |

This was about 9-10 ft from the car, it was the last one before i had to stand still and not get him excited. |

Actually I did that with the clone tool, a bit slower than using photoshop remove but it worked for me. |

I like the timing on this sharp image, a passing moment. The image is sharp and clear. Yes it is a butt shot, but is that not a metaphor for our lives as often life in a fleeting second just passes us by. In your description you said the kid just passed by quickly (wizzed by} leaving you little time to plan a shot. I took the image and in photo shop blurred the background to create the illusion of movement. I also did one with the kid blurred, but posted the blurred background which would of been the effect of panning. |

Good title, This seems to be a common practice in many areas. I have seen similar in Peru, although not with as many riders. I like the expression and look on the third person from the right. He seems to be saying, what are you looking at nothing to see here. If I could guess that even with the fast shutter i suspect you were travelling reitively slow as you passed the group. The image is very sharp and clear. |

Very nice the colours work to make the image and the girl with the camera who appears to be making an adjustment to the gown conveys what is happening at the moment. I did a slight crop and remove the sign from the background as it seemed the colour of the sign drew attention away from the subject and the other people in the area going about their business. |

This is a good image, I do not think the background has any negative effect as snakes often are seen against various backgrounds including like in this case the hand of man. What also is interesting is that the image can be rotated and due to the diagonal line in the image it would be just as effective. The BW is my preference over the color. I have put a rotated image in this comment, I did no other edits or changes |

Well done, you captured look on the young man's face , he is sharp most of the bike is sharp except the front wheel which indicates motion and the background is slightly blurred but the features in the background do not distract from the subject. I think the B&W does this image justice as in the colour the lights in the back seem to distract and the young man does not pop out of the scene as he does in the Mono |

This is an interesting image showing design from days past, and showing it well. I like the mono over the colour. Melissa in turning into an older type image does ad some to it from one persepective although the image does not need any major changes. I did a different crop and like Melissa used an antique finish to the image just to see the effect. I did leave some of the actual door showing . Your image stands on it's own but was fun to look at and see what else could be done. The potential of this scene is almost endless, thank you for the fascinating image. |
