I like the colour image as it focusses on the men at work. I do like Bruce's BW as it does do the image justice as a mono. I feel the orange does draw the eye to the men and the area surrounding them. I did do a modification to the colour and some croppin along with making the boats in the back no quite as prominent. The boats are part of the story but as they were i felt they did take away from the men. My crop was done to keep focus on the men. |

There is a lot in this image. My first thoughts were what are that young womens thoughts as she seems to be in her own world in a large empty space. The colour of her dress and her skin tones make her jump right out of the scene. the reflection of the tree gives some overall balance to the scene. Then I read your description of the scene and memorial, and a whole new story emerged. a very powerful image . |

I would not change this image it is a good portrait of a person at work on the street. Both the posted image and the mono you posted have to me the same impact, as they both carry the message of place and time, my preference is to the mono. I did try an edit in BW and it lost that timelessness in a different land and culture. |

I like this image. My first thoughts were the edge of the deck on the left was questionable and then I looked at how it was taken and the story in the image and it fits. the ribbons are in addition to providing leading lines do take away from the dragons, but I have been at more than one Chinese event in Victoria and those ribbons are a part of the culture around the events so in that way add to the image and contribute to making it real. The only thing when all is said and done would be, in my mind anyway , to remove the bird in the upper right. A real minor point in a very good image as presented. |

It was cold and raining until later in the morning, this was around 6:30 amand aroiund 10 when I went our again the rain quit and it was just cold. It was a fun exercise though. |

This image portrays exactly what it says , and highlights three Women who appear very pleased with what they are doing and what they have done. The image can stand as presented. I did try one edit just to see the effect, in the edit I focussed on the three ladies and kept the background (it is part of the scene and time) but put attention to the Ladies. |
