I was on a hill looking down, and a quite a distance but although not a great image for a couple of reasons as I stated above I got what I wanted plus it is somewhat interesting. Hope to be in different circumstances this sept if they come back. |

Hi Sally, I did try Panning but that was a disaster. The snowmobile was moving very fast in one direction, and the rider was more often than not moving quick in a different directionj, plus I was a close as I could get under the circumstances. However I think you have a good point that under different conditions (my location and focal length used) would have helped. |

A nice moment with friends, and in Hannah's case a personal touch. I was first puzzled by the shape until I read your description. I just changed the tone so that the skin was closer to normal and sharpened the Pizza a bit. I also like Bruce's adjustment in colour and removing the distractions. I do think that to some degree the background adds to the story of friends out in public doing their own thing in the environment they are in. |

I like this image as is, tried a couple of adjustments and found that they did not contribute or add to the story and the scene. This is well done |

This is a good image. My first thought was the barber noticed you setting up for the shot and posed somewhat. That does not take away from the image. I like his facial expression as well. Good lesson for me should I ever have a similar opportunity, and the subject smiles for the camera, would be to take the image and then wait bit until he thinks you are done then quickly take a candid. |

I like the image as is it shows the street and the crowds looking I assume at the other vehicles. Although the red stands out and draws attention to the car, I like the white one better, just a bias as I am not a fan of red cars or trucks. |

I like the image and the action shown. I did one small edit and sharpened the performers face just to see what it would do. I think it does show his concern a bit better. |

I have come back to this photo a number of times , tried mono, but in this case the colours make a contribution to the image and the story. I tried toning the colours both ways, less saturation and more, with a number of stops between and found they made no change to the image or the story. I took out the clothes in the upper right but then felt they also contributed to the environment the subjects were workin in. Perhaps in my mind at least, if the image was not so tight and showed more of the walkway to the right it might add to the scale of the task at hand. Other than that which is a maybe, the image is good and tells the story as is and no changes are necessary. I will be interested in other comments and Ideas. I did a quick mono on your original 2 and felt due to the colous of the clothing of the women (the dress colour did not add to the story or environment) sort of helped to portray the "dark ages" system of working. Both images however are well done. |

Hi Isaac: It is a bit oversharpened, but I wanted to get rid of the motion blur, and the v lux 1 has a very small sensor, which at max focal length is noisy particularly when you crop some as i cropped the sides somewhat. My intent when I took this image was twofold, to catch one of the riders in the air. and find out what that camera was capable of from the distance I was limited to. Not a great image but I got what I wanted and it does show me one limitation of that camera. As to the snow there was none it was a nice warm late summer day. Hopefully they will be back this year, I am in a position to get down to where the event was staged. |
