This is good image. I did play with it a bit perhaps more than neccessary than Bill's suggestion and took out all the background leaving only the decorated vehicle and the kids. I did a slight color adjustment, but ran out of time to drop the highlights down on the two kids. I cropped the bottom to square up the vehicle only. I also sharpend the end result in Topaz (as far as I know there are no rules that require a street image in particular to be tack sharp). Given the circumstances you described and considering the lighting and the movement,(vehicle and kids) plus what was likely your only position available on the street, you did a great job of capturing a moment in time that will never be repeated. Well done |

It is one of Nic Collection of editing programs, Part of the DXO set, I like it for the presets and the control points. Once you choose from a number of presets you also have the ability to make adjustments to suit what you envision. It works as a stand alone or a plug-in with photshop and lightroom. In my case the control points are easier to use for local adjusts with the arthritis in my hand. |

This is a good image as is. I always try to see what I can do with it and tried mono, but that lost the color which makes this image plus the men really did not show up. I took the center light out and that did not in my mind improve the image. I agree with Bill it would have been nice to see the whole arch, but that would have perhaps taken away from the men and they would have been smaller. My thought is the location and lens dictated how much of the structure you were able to include. Well done I like this image as is. |

You captured the environment well, the picture does tell the story you described. My only thought would be to crop both sides such that the red, inflateables form a frame for the people and the walkway leading further into the scene. i dulled and got rid of the one real bright light that was more or less in the centre and put the image through topaz sharpen after I ran it through the Nic analog program.. In any event your image conveys the Xmas spirit well as it was posted. |

This shows a scene and workman very well, I did a mono and took out most of the background to make the subject pop out, I left the side of the truck on the left as his hand is on the panels (his balance maybe) and by leaving them in they balance the ice blocks on the left. Your image is sharp and well done

I like this image, particularly how the one beam of light falls on the fisherman. To me this is a hard image to improve on but I tried a crop to increase the size of the subject and draw a bit more attention to him. I did some minor adjustment in Nic Viveva |

I suspected the message of this image before I even read the description. It conveys that message well. In looking at it I removed the road markings and the pair of auto wheels at the top, although they were a very minor, almost non existent distraction. Then I tried the image in mono just to see how it worked out. I did the mono in silver efx |
