Hoshedar, Your timing on this photo was very good. It isn't often that you can capture all the detail like you have in this photo. I think with the Z9 you can capture more detail in the photo with some settings in the camera. I just got a Z8 and in pursuit of the right settings for me, I ran across some settings that may benefit you with your Z9.
Hudson Henry is an attorney located in Portland,OR, and spends more time in the photography field than the legal field. He has the Z8 and Z9 and goes into great detail of settings on both cameras and what those settings can do or not do for the photographer. I like what he has to say in the focus area and that is the area I think he can help you. You said the bird had a fish in its mouth but I couldn' see it. Hudson can help focusing on the eyes of the subject and the eyes are hidden in your image.
You can find him on the internet Hudson Henry Photography. Don't let appearance fool you when you see him.
Good luck and I hope this will help you. |

Barbara,
Sorry to hear about your husbands medical issues, its terrible what happens to your body in the final years and its impact on the loved ones surrounding the individuals.
You certainly captured a nice image with your iPhone. They have come along way quickly in so many ways.
I like the reflections, the tones, the colors and the sharpness. Nice! |

Gaetan,
These are nice reflections in the glass, but there are some troublesome areas that capture my eye. Where did the fishnet reflections come from that are at the top of the reflected tree tops? The angle showing the top of the glass is not the angle showing in the liquid or the bottom of the glass.
Confusing to me, but maybe there were other conditions that came into play here. |

Judith,Nice capture of nature, hope that bug is not in a hurry to get anywhere soon.
The leaf provides a natural setting and is part of the triangle in the photo. It is the major line in the photo and creates balance to the photos structure. The bug, the snail and the leaf are sharp, have nice colors and tones. The darkened background provides a nice separation to the 3 main parts of the image. The photo was simple but carried a lot of impact. |

Lines and triangles play well together in this image. The road and fence line lead to the tree, that lead to the branches, that lead to the contrast of leaves, sky and grass. I like the way you have captured the trees canopy and created a natural vignette to hold the viewers eye. Nice pleasant colors. I like the composition Rich. |

Tom,
November is a great choice for this photo showing the flags and America's spirit in a cornfield. Lines and triangles, blue and white sky, and a little breeze highlight this photo. Great choice! |

Thanks for your comment Hoshedar. I always start taking photos with my native ISO setting of 64. With the new Mirrorless cameras I can start with a base ISO and adjust from there with changing the ISO or adjusting exposure compensation. I can also adjust the other settings. I will look closer at the other settings with this image.
With light painting I always start in dark room and direct my artificial light where it exposes the subject where directed. The lighting creates contrast that I like to use and emphasize with shadows. I don't think bumping the ISO up 200-300 units would change the effects that much but I will experiment on that concept. Perhaps others could comment about this as well. I like your thoughts on this.. |
