Nice eye for capturing this street photography image and the black and white conversion. Your crop minimized the distractions in the background. I agree that the light pole is a distraction. I think cropping in tight on the pole like Fran suggests makes a stronger image. |

I like your vision for this image. Since the leaves lack vibrant color I think the black and white works better. The water drops add another element of interest. You might try bringing down the brightness in the leaves to bring out more detail. Would blurring and darkening the bench provide more separation between the leaves and the bench? |

You certainly had a great photographic opportunity here. Makes for a nice black and white image with the contrast from whites to blacks. Perhaps you could bring out a little more detail in the blacks. I suggest leaving a bit more space on the left (since that is the direction the bird is looking) and less on the right. I would make the head the brightest part of the Puffin and try to bring out more detail in the eye. Maybe darken the foreground slightly. Good choice for a black and white image. |

I like the choice of black and white. This image more about shapes and lines than color. Nice detail in the rocks. It seems a bit out of balance to my eye. I don't like the rocks cut off on the left especially the one in the foreground. You also might try cropping about one third down in the sky. |

I feel the backlighting makes this a compelling black and white. I like the tight crop, nicely focused. I agree with the comments about the background. |
