Michael - It took me a while to figure out what was going on there even standing right on top of it. Evidently there are tiny air bubbles trapped under the ice that heat up just enough when the sun shines on them that they actually melt their way up through the ice causing these trails. This comes from a conversation with one of the Park Rangers who monitors the ice at the sea caves on Lake Superior |

Margaret - It reminds me of a hot, sultry, sun burning day on the Brazos River in Texas that I floated down with friends one Saturday afternoon while in flight school a century ago. Your photo really does a nice job of setting the mood of the afternoon (my guess). |

Adi - An interesting double juxtaposition of items; the two chairs and their shadows. The grout lines of the tiles seems to stabilize the whole picture by adding to the contrast. Certainly catches the eye, and coupled with the "stain" of the marble gives the eye more than enough to ponder. |

Lance, you hit me right in the strike zone with this photo. I love the contrast between the right and left of the upper half and the absolute clarity of the objects in the photo. I would have like to have eliminated the bush between the tree and the bush on the far left to give me a little more opportunity to see the sky line in that area.
Years ago I did a photo similar to this and printed a positive and a negtive, and displayed them next to each other. No one thought it was that great except me. Oh, well, you win some and you lose some, but this, from my perspective, is definitely and winner. |

Like Adi, I find the photo great in almost all respects. But I would try isolating the sky and try "dehazing" a little to add a little life (contrast) to the clouds. |

I again find myself in the minority, it just doesn't work for me. The lines are crystal clear and the contrast of the bodies with the walls and surrounding area is great.
I think what I enjoy most about your photos is your courage to try something I would not think of. It is not that during the course of my life I haven't gone off on a lot of deep ends trying stuff, just not with photography. I'm sure I don't have to say this, but keep it up, because viewing your work helps expand mine. |

I agree, just beautiful. I agree with Adi though, I think just a shade or two will give it a little more pop. |
