Adi - I remember visiting NY when this structure was being built, but never had a chance to see the completed building before this. Very nice capture of the architecture. Nice clear shot.
Just because the people seems to me to be a bit of a distraction, I wonder if you gave any consideration to taking multiple exposures, maybe 10-15, perhaps one minute apart then merged the files to eliminated those bodies giving a nice clean image. Unfortunately, of course, the police might have prevented that. You might have gotten a good enough set, however, by using the rail to brace on.
I will be looking forward to visiting NY in about 2 weeks with friends from Italy, and I'm hoping to see this building in particular. Thanks for the great preview. |

The error is completely mine, I should have been more careful. I apologize to the group, especially to Lance who had to correct the error. |

Michael, as a retired psychologist, I probably wouldn't be the only person to warn you about believing everything a psych test supposedly tells you about yourself, LOL.
I was wondering if you had done any sharpening on the image, because a while back I used that technique on a rather large photo I had printed and ended up throwing it away, because my use of the technique caused a white halo effect outlining the mountains range in the photo. |

I must apologize from the beginning, because problem with your photo is me.
It seems to be a crisp, clear shot of the balloons with a background that doesn't distract. When I blow the photo up the lines of the balloons seem to become indistinct. What drew me to blow it up was a halo type appearance around the perimeter of the balloons. I'd be interesting to hear if you see the same things or am I just seeing my screens inability. Could it be a chromatic aberration? As Adi remarked the cut-off 4x4x is a bit of a distraction, but not terribly so.
I said from the beginning, the problems is only me simply because a shot of three gallons leaning with the wind just doesn't say much to me. |

Great title, the only thing missing to enhance the title is a cold beer that would give reason for the smile on the seal's face. Absent the beer, I wonder how you got it to smile?
As far as the photo is concerned the important subjects are crystal clear, and it is easy to see how the camouflaged hide works to protect the animal. Due to the lack of clarity in the water below the ice, it almost appears that the ice is floating in mid air, and adds an interesting aspect to the photo. Nice nature photo. How in the world did you get so close?

Nice photo and crystal clear. Nice job with post-editing. Good shot of man at work. Craig looks like he'd be a fun guy to know and have working for you. |

Lance, if you are trying to capture the eye of the observer, you certainly got mine. It is a very intriguing photo that seems to keep me wondering what it is I am looking at. Am I am looking at an image of a person whose shadow is thrown onto a palm leaf from the near side, am I looking at the poorly lit silhouette of a person standing in front of the leaf, or am I seeing a shadow cast upon the leaf from the other side, and then I blink, and it seems that I see something very different.
I like it and very nicely done! |
