What is not to like in this photo, and I prefer this one to the other that you presented in response to Margaret Duncan. It seems a bit more dramatic to me, and to me, dreams, or perhaps more correctly, emotion is what I think B&W us all about. I think the version posted by Adi lost its emotion in the process of eliminating the light rays; its ethereal, celestial beauty. |

It is an interesting image, and I didn't understand what it is until reading other's reviews. I wish I had the kind of eye that you demonstrate here that picks up on the images that present themselves in the surroundings of your walk. I find that still lacking in my own photography. I really like the steeples, but to me, and this shows my prejudices, the wires are a distraction. The ice, particularly that portion on the bottom of the photo, that nicely frames the reflection, really adds to the visual appeal of the photo.
Good eye! |

This photo epitomizes why I love B&W. No frills, no distractions that color so often presents in a photo. Instead you get the basics: design, contrast, depth, the play of light from the differences of density in the wood, the symmetry of the spindles and rafters. Excellent shot, Love it! |
