I do understand what you mean, and I like your version of it. I left the smudgy background as a little interest / nod to the old masters, but that might not be to others' tastes. |

Ahh yes, mea culpa, 1 is an odd number. Oops! |

Wow, you put a lot of effort into this photo, and it paid off! Going with 3 was a good choice I think. It's fun to follow the individual die, and I especially like the top one as it takes its own course (and I can see the ghost of the 6-side at right about the rule-of-thirds spot on the top left). Nice! |

I love it. Especially the little bit of tension with the rod traveling upwards left to right, the difference in the way the ropes are hung, and the different textures in the ropes. |

I agree with everyone's comments. Great subject and great mood (although I'm still trying to figure out what the "odd" is). I'd like to see a little more detail in the trees to the left of the house. |

I love the composition.
I understand what people are saying about the harsh light, and ditto Chane's suggestion of having someone cast a shadow. Or, perhaps having someone hold a sheer cloth between the flowers and the sun might be an interesting way of keeping it under control? (I'll have to try that one...)

Beautiful orchid and photo!
I agree that the break in the photo is distracting.
I see 4 orchids - isn't this Rule of Odds? The 5th one may be represented by the sideways leaf behind Orchid #3? I think I'd prefer this with 3 orchids...
