Still learning PS so I'm sure this will make sense when I get to that point. Thank you though. |

I like this image. So many interesting things to look at including the gnarly trees! The fence makes a nice leading line and the sky makes a beautiful backdrop. Barbara's edit to fix the distorted fence also seems to have straightened the lighthouse. If using LR you can do the same by adjusting the axes in geometry. |

Correcting the distortion of the fence, in my opinion, appears to have also fixed the appearance of the leaning lighthouse. |

I agree this is a striking image. Simple yet strong. Your editing is well done for a dramatic image but I do see the halo. I have gotten these when I push the editing as I try to go for drama and wow. What I have done that has usually worked well for me (to keep my edits) has been to zoom in and apply a brush with very very slightly reduced exposure (maybe 0.5) and decreased contrast (usually -100). If this doesn't work I back off a little on the offending edit.…usually too much done to the sky. How do you remove it? |

Great composition of this very crisp and cold 🥶 image. You did a good job with detail in the snow. For the skies like this I will also use dehaze and often drop highlights and adjust whites and blacks and even adjust contrast at times. |

This is a beautiful and definitely a cold scene. I like the placement of the foreground with the meandering water line towards the lighthouse. And how lucky the light came on while you were there. I think it definitely added to the image. The pastel colors against the slate sky was also a lucky happenstance you took advantage of. |

Thank you. I will continue to work on congruency of color throughout my images. |

Thank you for your critique. I have shot this view many many times and I always second guess my cropping. But I do see that the sky is a bit over powering. |

Thank you for your critique. I do see that I could crop some from the top of the sky. |

Thank you. I do see what you mean about cropping some of the sky. The barns in the lower left will be somewhat difficult to place anywhere else because I'm shooting several miles in the distance through trees off my deck. So I can't really shoot from anywhere else. As always appreciate your expertise. |

I do not understand your comment. This is from two photos (posted here) that I took with my Canon R6 and merged together. I did this because of the lighting difficulty. They were both shot within seconds of each other. It's, I believe, a manual form of bracketing and is very often done by photographers. No AI was used. I'm not understanding why you say this isn't photography. Absolutely no disrespect here, I'm just trying to understand your comment because I can not figure out for the life of me why this would not be photography. Thank you, I look forward to your reply as I am pretty proud of myself for achieving a new technique. |
