Mike, I agree with the others, WOW. First glance and i was just overwhelmed. It's dramatic, well done and forget AI, you dont need it. I'd love to see more. Mark |

Chris,
It's a great scene and well captured. I tend to agree with Michael about working it to get the top of the sign more aligned with the frame, or at least one of the horizontal or vertically aligned with an edge of the frame. As i'm being told by my mentor, one thing would have kicked this up a notch and made it really grate would be to see one or both of the men's faces (preferably the one in the back) or better get one of them making a gesture. I'm not comfortable with street photography so I appreciate everything about this shot. Mark |

I love shooting this type of image too and may not have seen it in person but i think the real shot is Pete's crop but with all of the shadow's inside the frame. Since the original doesn't include the entirety of all three shadow's one can't adjust it now. One other point, the horizontal line created by the edge of the dock doesn't add to the image, another reason i like Pets' crop of it. Mark |

Emil,
I understand that much of the tranquility in the image is in the reflection but again tend to agree with Pete on the cropping. The monochrome you submitted is very moody but almost too balanced and as such as the viewer my eye tends to wander a bit. However, it's still a great image and I'm surprised you haven't won more firsts. |

Kamal,
Ok, Like WOW! Piloting a bell helicopter, that's fantastic and shooting while doing it is either real talent or something a crazy man would do. But, I love the image and tend to agree with Pete, it's needs to be cropped. The bright textured area at the top of the image competes visually with the main subject. But i think Pete's crop is too tight and needs some of the dune like pattern as an offset to the boats, so here is my go at it. As always, it's your image so go with your gut. |

Pete,
I'm with Adrian on this. It's a great photo but at first glance, i'd have cropped the right side to remove the stairs. You'd loose some of the back of the courthouse but it would push the viewers eyes toward the front of the building and eliminate the tree on the right which is a bit distracting. Mark
