Bob, That makes sense, I'll play around a bit and see what I come up with. |

I googled focus stacking and came up with several you tube videos that helped. Some had ideas on capturing images hand held but generally, using a tripod is best. I've had success handheld but it's not always successful. I've used both photoshop layers, align layers and merge layers for some images but normally use the Helicon Focus plug in for light room. It's easier and tends to be more reliable. |

Not much left to add to the discussion, but I really thing the monochrome version is the way to go. It's more abstract making it much more interesting than the original. AS for the suggested edits, OMG, I wish I had time and the "memory" to try some of them too. |

I'm finding my iphone to be a great back up and makes it easier to compose difficult images. I love the drama of the monochrome conversion and how you've been able to make the iceberg stand out from the background. I mistakenly bought a non pro version of the iphone and am trying to upgrade to get the raw capability. Great image and i'm sure a marvelous trip. |

Love the image and the location. I've got a lot of images from Jackson Hole and am always challenges by the blue cast of the mountains. Not sure what causes it but it seems to be there a lot. Your conversion to monochrome does a nice job of addressing that and like Israel, I like the way you handled the sky. |

LuAnn, your placement of the Gibbon is right on and makes a great composition. I do however, like it with the radial gradient and other edits which really force the viewer to see the Gibbon and ignore the background. |

You really did capture the moment. Everything about the image makes me want to see what she was looking at. To stop eating and look away had to be quite and event. |

Like LuAnn, I'm a fungi kinda guy. Member of NAMA and just returned from two weeks hunting fungi in Sardinia. And as Oliver said, you nailed it. Great perspective and the depth of field is excellent. I've started working with focus stacking to improve my "luck" with fungi but am still learning. |

I like it. I did have vignetting in the one submitted but am a bit timid at times with my editing. |

Thank you. I've been wondering about lighting up the bystander. Each time I look at it I ask myself if he's too subdued. I'll play with it and see what I come up with. |

Oops, I see that line everytime I open the image but forget to crop it out. Thank you. I'll take care of it right now. :) |
