I agree with the previous comments and have never seen a sun star this large. As suggested a neutral density filter might have helped. Another simple suggestion would be to return to the area at another time of day. The coastline rocks against the shore are an interesting element. |

Nice unexpected find. I agree with the above comment particularly regarding the porcupines face and cropping the left porcupine from the frame. Welcome to the Group! |

Hi Glenn, The red amaryllis on a pure white background is striking. Including part of the leaves and an unopened bud completes the composition. I also would prefer not to see the shadows but......a nice holiday presentation. |

Hello Sheldon, You surely did "get it right". I like the composition with the birds being just off center and midway into the frame. The image has a feeling of drama for me with the black against the white, white snow. You also captured the textures in both birds and the snow. Nice work! |

Hi John, Good leading line which does not come directly out of the corner. My eye moves along nicely to the tree and fluffy clouds. I like your choice of converting to monochrome. It highlights the cloud formations nicely. Plus the evidence of a storm coming. The very white wall is a compliment to the white in the clouds. |

Hi Charlie, An out of the ordinary image this month. I do like it. The red and black color combination works well with the old and worn subjects. I would consider, but am undecided, regarding Barbara's suggestion of cropping the wood along the edges. Would it take away the antiquated feel of the image? Hummm...... Anyway the image creates interest and questions. |

You never fail to disappoint this group with your insect images. I do agree with the previous comments and have nothing further to add. I look forward to seeing what the next months bring. |

Hi Barbara, Great image! I particularly like the composition coming out of the corner and just a portion of the lily showing. Superb focus. On my monitor the background
color is warm brown, matching the stamens (?) of the lily. Creative work. |

Hi Charlie.....You are too late with your comment. When I was about to post this image I cropped it. Originally it was centered. Oh well, on to the February image. |

Hi Barbara, Very good seasonal image. I like your arrangement with each pine cone placed on a diagonal with the greenery in between. The red berries are a good accent. Your background material was an surprise and a good choice. It off sets the design nicely. All pleasant to look at. |

Hi Murphy, I love abstracts and your image fits into that category. Interesting you added some color....good choice plus all the colors compliment one another. Makes me think of a piece of stained glass. Good addition to the group of #63 images. |

Hi Alane....You certainly do get around and photograph many interesting subjects. Nice work with the hat and good conversion to black and white. It's not surprising you won an award for Circles and Spheres. Keep up the good work! No suggestions for improvement. |
