Welcome back....Sorry to be so late in posting. Debbie has some good suggestions. Others as well. Happy to see the use of a cell phone. One of the former moderators in a group I belong to was biased against cell phones. I use mine but not exclusively. |

Excellent post processing work particularly with the background. The bear is nicely looking at the photographer with good eye contact. |

Ah.....what choices we have in our photography. Do one correction and then another area is off. The red ship is essential in this image but the tilt of the overhead metal bridge is not to me. I do like Bill's version. He has kept the observer in the image and the walkway. I do like the image but to me the overhead bridge, as is, needs adjustment. |

You have brought up some good points and have a sharp eye. Yes, I did work on the area you mentioned. I removed some tree branches. Thank you for ceating an example and making a much better over all image. Helpful....that's what these groupa are designed for. Thank you! |

Dramatic! I think the position from which you photographed makes it so. The triangular position of the "pond" is creative and unusual. Wish the tip of the triangle was visible but still appreaciated. Part of the drama is the conversion to B&W, the wonderful water textures and clouds. Great! |

The addition of the statue head makes the image unique. I like it! Both the original and the modified versions. You did a lot of editing that turned out really well. Changing the image to monochrome was a perfect choice. I particularly like the lightness of the petals on the lower left of the frame. Excellent post processing. |

In my opinion you accomplished your goal. Great difference between the original and the published. I much pefer the published. It is soft and dreamy appearing. I like the bits of yellow that were retained after processing. Very good work...Peonies? |

Hi Shaji, The elongated shadow on the white leaf is the shadow of the green spike formation in the center of the closest white leaf. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for sharing, Charles.....The second example is interesting as it looks to me as if taken against a mirror. I see a reflection or? |

Hello Murphy,
Striking collection of colorful pansies. Always thought of them as a Spring flower but perhaps they have been modified as they now blossom the entire summer in 80 degree Wisconsin heat. I wonder if the smaller flowers on the left side are violas as their appearance is similar to pansies. The bright colors against the black background works well. I like the irregular height of the planting. Makes for more interest.
Sharp subjects with good lighting and appeal.

Hi Barbara, Great image....I really like the simplicity.... and the fact that you used a dried flower. In some cases I think there is more interest in dried rather than fresh flowers particularly photographed from the back. Creative! And extremely nice to look at...love the textures. |

Hi Charles, Wonderful, wonderful image. This image makes me think of the 19th century Impressionistic artists. They were known for their use of light with changing quantities. You have certainly accomplished that in this image. The subject placement in the frame with the radish in front but off to the side is part of a good composition. I like the dark background. |

Hi Alane,
Even though you were photographing under poor conditions you did very well. I like the fact you captured the entire flower. The petals are interesting to me and make me think of fabric that may be in a woman's dress or skirt. Light, filmy and with summer in mind. You have an interesting story connected with your photography in Monet's Garden. Good work. |

Hi Neal,
You do so well with your close up nature shots. I can only make a compliment and cannot think of a suggestion for improvement. All the work you put in with your images is apparent. |

Hi Shaji,
Very nice nature shot, sharp subject and good placement in the frame. The background is complementary and works well. Good work hand-holding the camera. Cropping along the top and right side particularly to remove the broken stem would be something to consider. |
