After biking the entire Going to the Sun Highway in Glacier many years ago I truly am enjoying looking at your image for this month. Well done and very memorable for me. |

I like your sky replacement. It works well with the coloration of the barn. However, I do not particularly care for the blue in the current processed barn. To me it's an unnatural color.
The composition is well done with good focus. I would like to return to the Palouse one day. |

This image prompts me to think of a trip to Mexico with the bright colors and shuttered window. I, too, would like to see a little more of the house on the right side. But attractive as is. |

Lovely image with impact. The trail is inviting to me and I would like to walk further into the scene. The colors are soothing and I like the splash of floral colors. Very nice! |

WOW.....When first looking at this image I thought, amazing three owls all in a row, practically impossible. Plus from a moving boat? Great work!! Fine focus on all.
After giving you sincere praise, I am wondering if the tree on the right could be eliminated even further. Background changed? It's such an excellent image but the tree is a real unwelcome object to me. |

Hi Neal, Good image of the spider and the surroundings he/she lives in. For me seeing the living environment prompts some questions. Is the leaf soft or prickly to walk on, it looks as though it might be a certain type of pine tree. The little brown spots, the beginning of cones (?). They do match up with the color of the spider which is a nice addition to the image.
However, pine trees do not have leaves only needles. An unexplained mystery. |

So true.....Several years ago I joined an Ikebana group. The arrangements look so simple but they are not. Many rules and different schools to follow. The group I belong to practices Ichiyo but after a student learns the rules may create "free style" arrangements. Still learning!
You must have unlimited patience particularly with your submission this month. Amazing! |

I agree with substituting a yellow border and tried to do that.
I use Photoshop Elements and it would not do that for me. Wish I could remember the comment Elements gave me. That has happened in the past. I had to use a border from Nik software and Nik only provides different size white borders as far as I know. |

Hi Murphy, I like the Spanish Lavender as you presented it. Contrary to the opinion I made on Alane's image I prefer all the greenery on this image to remain. To me it is a matter of balance. This is a very interesting plant. Tomorrow I will visit a lavender field and will take note of the difference between the different varieties.... if there is any. Nice composition, good color and lighting |

Hi Alane, I like the image as Bev Caine interpreted it. To me the top petal she removed was a good idea. I probably would not have thought of it but there was a shadow on the top of the petal that I would have cloned out. I like the rose particularly the "renegade" lower petal. It makes a unique and beautiful flower portrait. There is a softness to the image that I really like. Good work! |

Hello Barbara, The pink carnation is placed nicely in the frame and has excellent sharpness. Although the stem is not as sharp as the rose you could try, as suggested, darkening the stem. I think it is essential to keep the stem, otherwise the rose will appear as if floating in the frame. I like the stem as shown in the original photo even though it looks as though there is some division between top and bottom of the stem. Clone tool?
True, the edges of the rose are a bit too bright but can be worked on as this is an attractive photo of a rose. |

Hello Shaji and Welcome to Group #63.
Excellent image with the black ants on the yellow floral material and a lovely soft green colored background. The colors all work together well. I like the placement of the subject in the frame. Everything is well focused and lit nicely. I agree with the comments regarding the area on the lower right. I would probably clone out the yellow bit of color. Very nice! |

Hi Charles, You have given me a new way of seeing a bud with the stacked images. So very sharp and with visible hairs, cobwebs, etc. What an extreme difference between using a Lens baby and focus stacking. They both have their place, along with "traditional" photography. A question....how do you achieve the wonderful muted background with the super sharp subject? I do like the bud and its bright color against the background color. Excellent work! |
