Welcome to Group 9. Looking forward to a sampling of your photographs. You have worked nicely on the lower half of the frame. What a shame it would have been to miss all the "hidden" information it contains. Your explanation of the post processing work you did is appreciated and produced a fine looking image. |

Impressive bird image particularly the tail section with the feather separation. Not to mention the head and breast sections. I never tire of your images of birds and help me to identify all the various varieties. |

Beautiful sky, the color is superior. I know the area as I drove through Kearney a number of years ago during migration. Impressive, as is your photo. I like how you divided the frame with the sky having the superior portion but also including the ground which also contains the cranes. |

Condolences regarding your recent loss. Stay in the group, if possible. I can connect emotionally with this photo. It brings back happy memories of traveling/hiking with friends and visiting many National Parks in the US. Foreign travel as well.
I see more than the stately Ocotillo with it's red blooms bringing color to the desert in this image. I see a hiking trail, mountains in the background plus more. And all under a blue sky. |

Nice colors in the flower itself. The lighting accentuate the yellow petal as opposed to the orange. I like the effect. My question is why not show the entire flower? I do like the hint of the stem and leaves at the bottom of the frame. |

Hi Murphy, Good of you to share a "vintage" image with us. Yes, technology has come a long way in the past few years. I used to get annoyed with all the new camera features. I took classes, understood shutter speed, aperture, composition, etc. and some of the photos from a newbie were just as good or better than mine.
On to commenting on your image.....Attractive with the yellow blooms against the mottled green background. Simple but effective. The raindrops add interest. Usually I like things off center or placed diagonally but in this case, I would like to see the subject straight up in the frame. Not to be critical but....just me. |

Hi Charles, you have presented an unusual flower for viewing. Nicely done! I think the slanting line the bloom is resting on is an integral part of the composition. To me, it really makes the composition. I also like the little "pieces" on the left lower leaf, adds interest. The subtle blue tones of the leaves, combined with the yellow center of the bloom is attractive. All technical qualities are met. |

Hi Alane, I am in agreement with the previous comments. The raindrops are the "frosting on the cake". |

Greetings Neal, I see a very sharply focused image placed again on an interesting angle on a dark background. You have framed the image with a thin stroke which completes the image for the viewer. I see red on the body of the cricket, which is part of the cricket itself. It is somewhat disturbing to me, thinking unconsciously, of an injury which I know is not true. I do like the name of the cricket in the frame. |

Hi Barbara, This image really attracts the attention of the viewer. I am impressed! The red of the carnations against the black background is just striking. An uneven number of subjects and the third carnation being at a different angle from the other two creates a winning image. |
