I really like the purple/pink tones in this image. Both the children's clothing and the sky. They work together very nicely. I might consider removing the boy from the image. He is not a part of the color combination which is striking. But as you say, being "emotionally involved" that might not be an option. Remember the moment if you do clone him out. |

Extremely nice image. Subject is in fine focus, background is nice and soft, composition is pleasing. All very good. But I do have a question.
I see a light area on the breast of the swallow. If this were my image I would want to tone down the brightness. But.....when I try to do that using the burn tool it would turn out grayish which I do not care for. I have used differing exposures but it does not work for me, always gray. I use Photoshop Elements. Any suggestions? |

I like your image as is. Sometimes we have a true blue sky. It compliments the coloring of the bird particularly the yellow area near the tail. Nice and sharp with a catch light in the eye. Good composition. OK to a thin wispy cloud but to my eye it's good as is! |

Hi John, After looking at your image at several different times I honestly don't know of a way to make it more appealing to judges. I think it is an excellent image for the Photo Travel category. But....try another category. I like the spectators in the upper portion. The "Green Monster" sign is associated with Fenwick Park so that can't be removed. The player with his red shirt and the scoreboard is essential so I do not have suggestions other than to change categories. Perhaps another member will. |

Hi Charles, Such an unusual image which is very creative and pleasing. I like the composition with the large center droplet and the smaller surrounding droplets. The colors of the droplets are reminiscent of the stars in the night time sky. An excellent title. Also, thank you for the explanation of your work sequence. |

Hi Neal, Good composition....I like the diagonal line which adds interest. "Single image" with sharpness and detail. Good work as usual.
Regarding the comments on the brightness of white areas, I would like some direction on how to alleviate this in post processing. I use Photoshop Elements and have trouble using the burn tool which I would choose to correct bright spots. When applying it to the area to be covered I always have a gray tone. I've tried different exposures but the gray is still prominent to my eye. Any suggestions? |

Hi Richard, Your statement which includes the words trust and liberty was accurate in regards to your image this month. You met your goal nicely. Each photographer has their own style of work and we should be appreciative of the differences. |

Hello Alane, After reviewing the previous comments I have nothing more to add. It seems to me that where ever you travel you keep your camera poised for good shots. You find interesting subjects and capture them. Also, you have alternative plans if batteries, unexpectedly, loose their charge. Good work! |

Thank you for your comments and the re-worked image. I was not in agreement with the previous comments regarding the background but I do like your version with the the background darkened. I welcome your addition to this group. |

Hi Murphy, I really like the composition of this image. It's a pleasure seeing the natural environment surrounding the violets. The mottled dark background is complementary to the sharply focused purple and yellow violets. Good work! |

Hi Barbara, Impact is the key word in this image. The bright yellow against the background is stunning. Focus, using the stacking procedure is very sharp. I like the blended color of the petals; added interest. I do agree with others as to the composition. The central part of the flower is a little too close to the top of the frame but that can be easily corrected in your next floral close up, |
