Hi John, After looking at your image I really do miss attending this years conference. Hopefully, next year. Good lighting and clarity in the scene. The addition of the photographer provides an interesting element. |

Welcome to Group 9 and your interesting abstract. It's generally a surprise to find out what the origin of an abstract image is. This time for sure. I like the soft colors against the harsh textured top of the plant. I see good detail and contrast. |

Inviting image. I would like to bicycle or hike to Vernon. Great choice of subject, the old bridge with an added interest of foliage at the beginning of it. I like the sky replacement you chose but as others have commented the image needs a bit of straightening. |

Thank you all for the comments. I submitted this image to my camera club as part of a fall image sharing night. The grasses need to either go, be darkened or blurred. Every one is in agreement. |

Hi Debbie, I don't mean this in a negative way at all but are you familiar with Hazel Meredith? She teaches in person and has a blog on the internet. I have taken some of her offerings and like her work. This looks similar to what she does.
Very nice, I do like the sky and the entire image. I am partial to abandoned homesteads and often times would like to know their histories. Good work! |

Hi Barbara, I really like this image. Brings to my mind what was it truly like before it's demise. And who cut the branches and why. An emotional reaction, yes.
I also think there are many possibilities for close up shots. Good find.....hope you can return to take some. |

I will predict you have a winner. Lovely composition, lighting, color and sharpness. All aspects of a winning entry. As you sometimes say, I did find a little "nit-pick". On the right, between the larger and smallest mushroom stems there seems to be a little web or some type of material. Consider removing it? |

How often do we see the underside of a spider! Again, good capture with excellent focus, placement in the frame and technical aspects. Very nice. |

An amazingly different hood ornament. For me it's almost too much to look at. I would agree with Neal's suggestion to select the main subject but make the background a solid black. Keep the jewel part, of course, the diagonal line and it's round base. The ornament itself is so interesting and unusual; it needs to be where the eye rests. |
