I like the motion of the fluttering wings. Good color and focus. In regards to the bottom of the image I would consider doing away with the green color and change it to black. Possibly make the stem reddish brown in it's entirety. |

You did a good job of cleaning up the background. Unusual colored flower, interesting. As others have mentioned the stamen being out of focus is a disappointment but the flower itself is in good focus. |

Creative post processing, yes. To my eye I prefer the original but applaud you for all the time you invested. Great sky replacement. |

Where better to take photos of old barns than Iowa. Unusual shaped barn and you did a good job of capturing it. I enjoy all the textures in the scene, to me the whole scene is appealing. Come to south western Wisconsin with your camera sometime. |

Adorable little kitty. You do have a way with photographing animals and telling their stories. I like the setting you have photographed Boone in. Creative, plus you met all the technical and emotional elements of an excellent photograph. |

You fulfilled the requests asked for! I like the composition being on an angle. Sharp with good color and detail. Nice stroke around the image, slim width and color-wise. |

I see a strong and interesting composition which is a little unusual. Good! The diagonal line really shows off the designs in the wing yet the head and eye are visible. The dark background with green leaves are a plus. Nice! |

Hi Murphy, Very good image. I like how the stem has a nice curve to it; adds interest. The colors look good on the dark background. I also like the lighting particularly the lighter tones along the stem in places. Good focus. |

Hi Alane, Nice sharp image of the cicadas. I can see a lot of texture in their bodies. I agree with Murphy in regards to the background. I feel it is in competition with the subjects and if modified the photograph would be great as it has a great deal of interest. |

Hi Gary, Good color on Lady Bird with an appropriate background. I think a hand-held shot would be difficult. Plus the fact that you were using a new piece of equipment.
Content is interesting and after a bit of practice and possibly a tripod you will see improvement. |

Hi Barbara, Lovely! The color, focus and composition are outstanding. You asked about darkening the leaves, I would do so but not to remove. When first looking at the image I thought the mark Neal pointed out was just a water droplet but after a closer look I would suggest removing it along with two other marks on the upmost petal. The mark on the left is barely visible but under an almost microscopic exam it is there. You have made an exceptional photo of the day-lily and I don't mean to be critical. It has impact! |
