Good question....this photo was taken at my son's place and the pasture area runs downhill. Leave it as is or straighten?
Next time shoot from a different viewpoint?
Belated wedding congratulations. So pleased you found a partner with a camera. |

Creative thinking! Lots of nice detail in the arch; perhaps lighten it at the top of the frame. |

Super shot! Both the bird and the background. Also the choice of a red flower to match the red on the hummingbird's neck was a great selection. Good composition as well. |

You are heading toward being a "professional" bird photographer. Very, very nice and unusual. The suggestions made are of value and I am in agreement with them. |

Hi John, Lines, lines, horizontal and vertical with a little slant, too. I like it!! Good choice of converting to mono and a smart composition. Great texture as well. I congratulate you and cannot think of a way for improvement. |

Hi John, Typical Maine, I thought and then looked at your comments and it was Maine. A photographic spot and you did well with a not so good sky but a good composition. I liked the fact you included the rocky foreground. Nice work! |

Hi Gary, You have given us a minimalist photo with a large portion of negative space. The color of red always attracts the viewer's eye. Background material picks up the color in the subject. I do agree with the previous comments regarding the composition. Also, I would suggest removing the little gnat as it does not add to the composition. |

Hi Richard, The bee and white portion of the flower are in acceptable focus. Good capture! To me the background of the photo is somewhat distracting, too much variance of color with black, which I like, it's the greens which are bothersome. I think I would prefer the green to the right of the bee be the same soft/pale shade of green as on the left. Just a personal preference. |

Hello Neal, Your focus stacking skills are excellent. You have captured, processed and photographed a wide variety of little creatures. I am impressed with your photography and ability to identify of all the specimens you have photographed.
Exceptional work! |

Hi Murphy, You did achieve your goal, nicely. The background is very soft and compliments the sharply focused foreground flowers. Lovely image. I am in agreement with Neal in regards to the stroke. I, too, feel it too bright. Perhaps a soft green would be more soothing and in keeping with the background.

Hi Barbara, I like the position of the stem curving around the bleeding heart. A creative composition. You are doing well with focus stacking. Congratulations on completing your recent PSA class. Personally, I would like to see a different background color. To my eye it is not complimentary, however Murphy thought it good color harmony. Interesting, the differing opinions. |

Hi Alane, You have given us a beautiful "high key" photograph. That technique was appropriate for this particular image. It works well; a plain white background for the iced branch. Cold, icy and interesting. The composition is really nice particularly with the leaf resting in a good position on the branch. I think of it as a bow completing the composition. Excellent focus. Very nice!
