9 Apr 21 Reply Thanks for your kind comment. The background is my wall. I am slowly learning to use purchased textures. It can be a time consuming process depending the intricacies of the original photograph. I will look into the textures in Elements. Apr 19th
9 Apr 21 Comment Hi Shaikh, Beautiful, beautiful photograph and flower with impact. The sharpness of the flower and surrounding leaves against the muted background is really superb. Natural background? I think it is and f4 did it? So very nice! Apr 19th
9 Apr 21 Comment Hi Allen, Unusual scene and you did a fine job of capturing it. I like the rather mysterious appearance of the image; the dark and painterly look. I also like the crop you have presented which includes the reflections. Apr 19th
9 Apr 21 Comment Hi Debbie, You are very good at producing movement free images. Heavy, long lens, being in a boat and producing a sharp image...great work! The white Egret against the green leaves is stunning. I think I am in agreement with John regarding cropping along the right side of the image. Apr 19th
9 Apr 21 Comment How creative in several ways. The three images themselves and then combining them into a triptych. I like the composition, presentation and appreciate the "high" key appearance. Skillful and lovely to look at. Apr 19th
9 Apr 21 Comment Hi John, Good conversion to Black and White. The sky replacement, particularly the area behind the tree, is very effective. You have highlighted that perfectly shaped old tree. Very nice composition. Keep the silo, it's part of the farm scene. Brighten the image up a bit and you will be a competition winner! Apr 19th

63 Apr 21 Reply Hi Gary and another welcome to Group 63. Thanks for your comments and providing a new background color for my tulip. I like the texture and the tan color. Helpful comments and suggestions are always welcome. That is how we learn and improve our photography.
I did review the color wheel and will be careful in the way I word my descriptions. (If we had emoji's on this site there would be a smiling face attached.)

63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Gary, Welcome to Group 63. Of the two images you submitted for this month I do prefer the edited version. The colors are toned down and almost painterly. The brown tones support the cream colored flower and bee. Good composition, lighting and interest. Apr 19th
63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Murphy, Love the colors and clarity of the sedum; it is different than what we see in Wisconsin. I did find a really unusual pair at the bottom of the left corner. Looks to me like two olives with a pimento in the center. Nice bright specimens on the grey background. Focus is right on and the composition and lighting are excellent. White stroke is appropriate. 63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Richard, You picked a very colorful subject. Focus, on the head and neck is sharp and the movement of the wing is as expected. Handheld.....excellent work. Background is nicely muted with the easily corrected two prominent stems, one behind the head and the other to the right behind the tail feathers. Apr 19th
63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Alane, Kudos to you for sending a technically excellent image under difficult conditions. Limited time, a glass case and difficult lighting. I see good focus, lighting without any hot spots and good color. Must have been an interesting exhibit.

63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Neal, I like your composition with the house fly arriving from the corner of the frame. It's a bit unusual and that's why I like it. You have included the most interesting part of the fly's anatomy, it's head. The other day, while opening a window I found a dead fly between the two panes of glass and I thought of your photography. Amazing what you can produce with your photographic talents and a focusing rail. Apr 19th
63 Apr 21 Comment Hi Barbara, I like the contrast between the dark lines of the porch and the lighter oak leaf. Often times simple compositions have impact and I think your image has it. You have matched the colors of the leaf and pine needle very nicely. Good technical qualities, light, sharpness and exposure. Apr 19th
