Being as unfamiliar with infra-red as I am, I wonder why the original image has a pink tone to it. All the infrared I have seen is always white and with shades of gray and black. My experiences have always been with landscape photographs. The rose itself has a pleasing formation. |

Wonderful image of the lily and dragon fly. Very sharp focus with a glowing center of the flower. The glow not only creates interest but highlights the center. As to the distractions Jesse found, I rather like the left lower area of water. To me it is directing my eye to the lily. I would consider some cloning in the right lower corner and behind the dragon fly. |

Excellent focus. You cropped down to the best looking part of the orchid. It is centered nicely in the frame with the stem off center obtaining a good composition. You might consider removing the bit of tan and the clip (?) on the stem. Good work on the busy background. A great improvement. |

Hi Allen, Surprise, surprise....glad it was only a grasshopper. Looks as though you have good focus on the insect. (Image is rather small) Background material? Another dahlia? Although the colors do not match perfectly. Good catch! |

Hi Jesse, This photo does look familiar. Good stop action which is focused well. I would like to see a little more space at the top of the frame.
Enjoy September especially if traveling. |

Greetings Tom, I want to welcome you to Group 63. I see that you are using a film camera and wonder if that is exclusive. The other day I was in a camera shop and noticed they had a large number of used film cameras for sale. The sales associate said there is a resurgence of interest in film.
Your choice of complementary colors (red and green) are pleasing together. They are bright and make this image "pop". Several members mentioned the dark area on the bottom right. If this were removed I think there would be an improvement in the photograph. Again, welcome.

Hi Lisa, Great color in the butterfly. The yellow background is complementary. I can't help but wonder what "magic" you worked to present this interesting photograph. |

Hi Neal, An excellent job of capturing the spider at work. The focus is very sharp. I see a pleasing composition with good detail throughout. Nice work. |

Hi Rosangela, I like the composition in this image with the long stem pointing toward the corner of the frame. The well focused underside of the attached head is in a good position.
I am in agreement with both Murphy and Neal in regards to reversing the image and toning down some of the bright highlights. Good focus and interest. |

Hi Pat, Nice effect, similar to the use of a Lens Baby but without the actual lens. I think the flower you selected was a good choice, it is large enough to demonstrate the technique effectively. Good color and sharpness where intended. |

Hi Murphy,
This image is really outstanding. The colors against the black background and the raindrops are super. The drops surrounding the leaves are the "frosting on the cake". The slim white framing is perfect. I also like the composition with the leaves filling the right lower corner. A real winner! |
