Thanks for your suggestion. I have entered other similar photos in camera club competitions and they have never done very well. Perhaps that is the reason. |

Harmonizing colors, good focus, lighting and interesting subject matter make this a great photograph. In addition, the composition is pleasing. I like it! |

Shaikh, Good capture through glass. I think you did a good job of removing distractions in the background. It is beautiful with excellent focus on the subject. |

Allen, I like your floating feather. I like the background color with the darker edges along the bottom and sides. The composition with the subject in the lower right corner is appealing. Did you photograph Turnip Rock? |

Hi Debbie-Nice composition and sharp focus on the butterfly. The background is nicely blurred but as David commented there are several spots that on the background that could be improved. Sometimes we are so concentrated on our work that we miss the obvious. In my case, anyway. |

John, Nice panorama work and a classic image of Mt. Rushmore. I like the blue sky and the placement of the cloud behind the Presidents. It sort of floats off to their right. David makes a good point in suggesting removal of the bit of cloud on the left and the wires underneath. |

Hi Jesse, Excellent focus on the hand and violin. It's an interesting close up shot which I like. If you would follow Shaikh's suggestion regarding the background it would be a winner. However, I do like it as is. |

Hi Shaikh and previous commenters, I tried to follow your suggestion for cropping. I don't know if there is an improvement or not. It may just be that this image doesn't have the "punch" as Jesse indicated. |

Hi Lisa, Excellent image of a rattle snake. The focus is very sharp even though you were hand holding the camera. An added bonus is the tongue out and ready to strike. I, too prefer the original image as the background is darker. |

Hi Karen, Nice little guy to share thoughts with. I like his placement in the frame and the fact that we see him from the side. Good texture. The lighting along with the similarity of colors, statue and foreground color, gives me a feeling of deep thoughts or as Charles said, contemplation. |

Hi Murphy, Lovely fall photograph. You chose the subject branch with a nice arching form. I like the background with the out of focus leaves providing similar colors to the foreground. Mother Nature used her paint brush gracefully. Very well done. |

Hi Charles, Wonderful photo of the dahlia. (One of my favorite flowers, too.) The lighting is just exquisite, stronger at the center of the flower and lessening around the edges. The background colors are complementary and emphasize the yellow and magenta tones of the dahlia. The flower just "pops" out of the frame. Border size can be reduced as suggested by others.
