What a wonderful opportunity to photograph the Northern Lights. I think they formed a complementary pattern above the mountains. I do not think the mountain tops are too sharp. To my eye they are nicely lit by the Northern Lights. |

Very nice post processing work. I like the composition with the bulk of the plant in the corner of the frame and the new growth protruding diagonally to the upper third. Good focus. |

Excellent stop action shot. The chick in the nesting box with his mouth open and mom in flight bringing food is not a common photo. Good idea to set up the camera and wait for the action which you captured amazingly. Good focus and background. |

I like the placement of the three birds. The chick in the front seems to be asking Mom a question. Good interaction between the two. The colors in the water are really nice particularly the reflection of the orange beaks. I do wish Mom were in sharper focus though. |

Very nice, Jesse. Fine focus and catch-light in the eye. The background is really complementary. I like hint of green blending into the darkness. |

Fine focus and detail. I like the B&W conversion. In a perfect photographic world I would like to eliminate the log cabin structure and simply focus on the Saddlery building. I am in agreement with David's thoughts regarding the cropping along the bottom. To me the structure does not have a base to sit upon. But...the viewer never knows the conditions you were photographing in. |

Interesting find, Lisa. The colors of the wood and stressed metal work well with the rusty grips. Great focus throughout. I can't think of any way to improve. Another excellent image. |

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your suggestions. Flipping the image is no problem for me. Adding canvas, that's another matter. I read your bio and see you and your husband teach and lead tours. Too bad you do not live in Milwaukee, WI. I'd take one of your classes!
Your images are always interesting and well done. Happy to have you in our group and have you share techniques. |

Khai, The focus on your clematis is very well done. The petals appear so delicate and almost see through. Lisa's suggestions regarding the background worked well. It seems you were pleased with the result and the members of this group that have seen the edited copy are also in agreement. |

Karen, your creativity is working overtime. I like the arrangement of dice...composition. The combination of your creative endeavors, compositional eye and your technical skills have given us another image of interest. Well done. |

Many plants classified as "weeds" do have a certain beauty about them. I think Thistles fall into both categories. Sharp focus on the front of the main flower. The gray/green of the plants and the purple of the thistle head are complemented by the blur of the background. Very nice. |

Color, color, color...so vivid and eye catching. Very fine focus on the blossoms and I love the out of focus green leaf on the left. Your composition, which includes an uneven number of subjects, is perfectly presented against the complementary background. Lovely! |

Charles, A truly beautiful image which is perfect in every way. Composition, clarity, lighting, color, interest and impact upon first view. You did a great job of isolating the lily from the busy background. The framing completes the "portrait". |
