Great subject! There are so many items that are in our homes and can make a nice photo. The light is very good and allows for detail in all the items. The green of the herbs gives a nice contrast to the garlic, onions and the mortar and pestle. The background could be a little more muted so as not to distract from the subject. Very nice! |

You did a great job of separating her from the background and providing a much more pleasing and less distracting background. She is sharp and it is a very good portrait of her. Well done! |

Kurt, I liked the second version more as it gives more detail in the base and grounds it. The clouds add a lot of interest. Your crop is good. When I look at the images you submitted for us, you had a smaller building on the left. I did not mind that as it gave a triangle effect for the two buildings. Both are good. |

I also like both crops but prefer the blue as it gives a "cold" feel to the image which would be appropriate for ice caves. Like Angela, my first impression (before looking at the title) was of cabbage leaves. I agree with the others about eliminating the two birds on the left and deleting the white spots.
What a fun way to take photos! I am surprised that the photo was so clear as the only time I was in a helicopter, I found it rather choppy and would be hard to take a clear photo. I understand why you would use a 1/3200 shutter speed. Well done. |

Birds are difficult to capture. The Cardinal stands out from the branches and leaves. Zooming in or cropping would improve the image and add more focus to the bird. Also, the bird is not sharp. It appears that the focus was more on the bottom leaves. You could try clicking on the area of the screen that you want in focus. Good attempt at taking photo of a bird as they are often skittish. |

I like the structure of the flowers and the clarity of the front one to the progressive muting of the other two. The one leaf looks like a crochet hook and adds interest. The purple border ties the flowers to the edge. I agree with the others that a bit more space would have improved the image. Very nice. |
