A good story telling picture Peter.
It actually capture the other side of the perspective, away from dunes, rainbow, cliffs, sea.... |

Great composition Ian.
You have played with the shutter very well.
A small query though, what was the time when you clicked it? |

Great capture Dhananjay. Very nice composition.
Just last month I was there on Californian coast and it was a photographic delight.

Dave, the clouds.
The thing I liked most in the picture is the right balance of the shade and the lighted areas on the ground. |

Sherry, the best part about this picture is the freshness and the calmness.
One of my teacher always used to stress that at times, we need to capture some images for the 'feel'. This is one such picture. |

Thank you very much Dave.
I actually clicked a few frames as you have suggested and they too came out well.
The main reason to include the background and the building in the top right corner was to give an idea about the size of the dunes. We have a desert area in North western part of the country called as Thar where we get some huge dunes also. |

Dear Dhananjay,
Thanks for lighting the picture.
Unfortunately, when we were there in Nubra, we were the only visitor. I do have some more pictures from there with some buildings and Bactrian camels, which I will share subsequently.
Lighting is a big challenge there. |

Dear Sherry,
Thanks for your comment.
The settings and other details as follows;
F/8, 120mm, 1/800 shutter speed, ISO 500, shot using Nikon D750
This place is approachable by an all weather road and you are required to cross a high mountain pass called Khardung La (La in local language word for pass) which is located at 18,300 feet.
The small building in the background is actually a small one storey building which is used as an eatery during tourist season in summers. During winter, this place is very inhospitable with extremely low temperatures.
