Aww, I'm flattered! One of my favorite subjects to work on, such characters with their fishing technique.
I love the outstretched wings, the toes and beak in the water. Really tells the story well. So hard to capture all those elements coming together neatly like this. Beautiful image. |

I love the colors and patterns and lines of this scene. There's a very good sense of movement through the image. The bright parts of the cones on the right help draw your eye to them, inviting exploration of the whole image.
I like your original composition, capturing the sweep of the crater rim and giving a bit more context to the fact that it's a crater with cones inside it. But as you noted the light didn't do you any favors with that, and I couldn't find a way to help it other than the cropping you did. If you crop down further you lose the cone in the upper right which at least to my eye is an important part of the composition.
Sure makes me want to go and explore that area. |

Such a lovely portrait of this stately bird. I like the pose you've captured with the legs separated and the head in an interesting position. The light is also quite nice and warm. Well done. |

So much to like about this capture! The spread wings help to fill the frame well. I love the huge trail of water coming from the fish / bill. The way the light is hitting the bill just makes it glow and get your attention. Nice job on the post processing to bring out the detail. |

You captured a really nice moment in the action between the 3. The spread wings, and bill positions give a good idea of the intensity of the squabble. There's also a good sense of the habitat with the way they're framed by the branches.
To me, the birds appear to be soft at least in part due to the lack of contrast in the image. The histogram is totally in the mid-ranges. I took the raw file and just did an adjustment in levels, by bringing in the black point to meet the data and reducing the white point slightly. It gives a whole lot more "pop" and vibrance to the color. I didn't touch saturation.

What a fantastic perspective you captured here- face to face with the lizard on the iguana's head! You could make quite a story, sci-fi or otherwise, out of this. I love the textures and sharpness of their skin, and how well this stands out from the soft background. The small amount of pink in the lizard helps draw your attention to it.
Well seen and captured. |
