For me this is a super image and tells a wonderful series of stories. The bonus is that as I see it, it is technically perfect. Well Done!

The flower is beautiful. However, I thought it could use a bit of "Pop". So I did a couple of things. First I selected the image duplicated the layer and created a non-destructive layer mask. I then darkened the leaves at the lower left corner so that did not call my attention to them. I then went to image/adjustments/vibrance and increased the vibrance a bit and increased the saturation just a drop. What do you think? |

So beautiful. My only wish for this image is to try the print in white as I found the red a bit difficult to read. Wish I had received something like this after 65 years of marriage, but my husband is not a sentimentalist as I am. |

Maybe it's me but I prefer to see the suggested changes in "print" so to speak rather than just imagine what it might be like. |

Lance, your comment on Carol's image refers to converting to black and white. I suggested that you demonstrate and you posted the above. I don't think that answers the question so to speak. |

Your original comment refers to converting to black and white and I suggested including and image in that medium with your response. |

Your comment references converting Carol's image to black and white. I don't think you actually responded to that with an image. |

Much better. When I originally did it, I thought the different take might be better, but I agree that it isn't really an asset |

I just purchased a new course that I am looking forward to working on and am planning to rework this image. Stay posted for the result. (definitely not before this week-end as I plan to head out to the Lake Worth Street Painting Fair) |

My pleasure. I find I'm using Vibrance on more and more images to get the pop I want |

I love orchids and for me this is a beautiful image that needs a bit of a "kick". What I did was select the image and then go Image/Adjustments/Vibrance and played with the slider till I came up with a result that I thought made the image really pop. I then used the saturation slider and just increased that a miniscule amount. Finally, I did an inverse selection and reduced the brightness of the leaves and then blurred them a bit to make the flowers stand out more. What do you think? |

This is a beautiful flower but for me lacks a bit of "pop". So I opened it in photoshop chose image/adjustments/vibrance and increased the vibrance a bit. What do you think? |

Good question as to the blotches but I have no answer. My guess is that I must have hit it with the a brush without realizing. As to the distortion, you'll have to get that answer from Stu |
